Excited to see that the staff secured an official visit. Somewhat surprised Arizona and UNLV are not on his OV list but he lives in Vegas and could still visit both unofficially. I'm not sure I like being the last visit especially if all the visits are all consecutive weekends. Some kids tend to get burned out and don't make all 5 visits. Just noticed there is a weekend off (September 16-17). I would think Brown is going to commit in the early period since he's scheduled all his visits before November but you never know. My confidence will build every week he stays uncommitted and be very high when we get him on campus. All that being said, I'm with you Etomic Fingers & Toes Crossed...

Georgetown v. Oregon could hold a little extra meaning. Oregon may be the team to beat.

Update
2017 five-star Troy Brown will officially visit Ohio State, Alabama, Oregon, Kansas and Georgetown according to his travel team coach Anthony Brown.
Brown, a 6-6 three-position perimeter player from Las Vegas (Nev.) Centennial High School will visit Ohio State September 2, Alabama the following weekend, Oregon on September 23, Kansas and then Georgetown on following weekends.
Arizona, California and UNLV, whom Brown is very familiar with, are also still in play. He has already unofficially visited Arizona and California and, while familiar with his hometown school, will unofficially visit UNLV on Monday.
Brown is a jack of all trades type player with a winning mentality. He is ranked No. 14 in the 247Sports Composite.
California currently leads in his Crystal Ball.

More Info
One of the most versatile and talented prospects in the 2017 class, Troy Brown, set five official visits on Saturday. When and where is Brown taking his visits?
Five-star guard Troy Brown recently cut his list of schools to eight. Now he’s set five official visits, he tells Scout. Brown, who ran with the Las Vegas Prospects during the spring and summer, will start things off at Ohio State the weekend of September 3rd and then visit Alabama (Sept. 10) the very next weekend.
After a week off the road, Brown will then visit Oregon the weekend of September 24th, and follow up with visits to Kansas (Oct. 1) and Georgetown (Oct. 6) the two weekends after.
To go with those five schools, Brown said he’s also considering Arizona, California and UNLV. He’s already visited Arizona and California unofficially and plans to see UNLV on Monday. Brown said he likely won’t re-visit Arizona or California.
“I’ll most likely be done after this,” he told Scout. “Both of those visits were thorough and long. I got to see everything.”
With his visits set, Brown, who ranks as Scout’s No. 11 overall prospect, is tracking for a college choice during the early signing period.
“Most likely that’s what I’m going to end up coming to,” Brown said. “After all my visits I think I’ll be good.

Still happy but I'm a little more tempered after hearing Cal was still being considered, think that's where he ends up.. Either way a small shot is better than no shot..

TROY BROWN, SG/SF, LAS VEGAS PROSPECTS
He won’t be relied upon for his scoring abilities but rather his unbelievable versatility and play making prowess whenever the game slows down. With shades of former international glue guy Andre Iguodala to him, Brown is someone that will be leaned upon for guarding the two through four in the half-court and remaining an active presence on the glass. He can lead the break off of the defensive rebound, make the proper pitch out off of the deck, and also score at the basket by way of his solid leaping abilities off of his left foot. He has already secured a gold medal with at the U17 FIBA level this past summer and brings a great pedigree and an egoless mentality that would be welcomed immediately.

TROY BROWN, SG/SF, LAS VEGAS PROSPECTS
COLLEGE CHOICES: Down to a final eight of Alabama, Arizona, Cal, Georgetown, Kansas, Ohio State, Oregon and UNLV
He burst onto the scene as one of the best, if not the best, in his class during his underclassman years. Sure, others have risen to the top but Brown went through an identity crisis as he attempted to prove that he was a jumbo point guard. After grabbing ahold of the gold for the USA U17 crew, Brown has gotten his game back in the right gear and his production has risen because of it. One of the most versatile prospects in all of the land, the Vegas native has some shades of former Arizona star wing Andre Iguodala: not a great shooter but a major athlete that can play make and defend various spots on the hardwood. He competes like a warrior and deserves to be called out of the United Center tunnel in the spring.

I hope this is not his official visit rather than Oct. 5-7 as currently scheduled... with new facility not quite finished, and no students, former players, etc. around as they would be for grand opening Oct. 5-7.

...For the second year in a row, Nike is taking a 12-player roster to the Bahamas this weekend, culminating with a matchup against the Bahamian National Team on Saturday, the same day as Elite 24.
Obtained by SNY.tv on Tuesday morning, the Nike roster includes Mohamed Bamba, Brian Bowen, Troy Brown, Wendell Carter, Matt Coleman, Quade Green, Brandon McCoy, Billy Preston, Mitchell Robinson, Collin Sexton, Gary Trent, Lonnie Walker, P.J. Washington and Trae Young.
SNY.tv's Adam Zagoria reported Tuesday morning that the Nike contingent was scheduled to visit the White House on Tuesday before departing for the Bahamas....
Explains the visit to D.C. Hopefully he can make a stop on Georgetown's campus and meet with the staff for an unofficial visit before heading to the Bahamas or on his way back to Vegas.

Good enough...sounds like a pretty tight schedule if this is all taking place...but at a minimum, he'll get a taste of our Nation's Capitol which is always cool.

ESPN commentary on Brown, whose ranking went up in the latest top 100:
Troy Brown Jr (No. 18). has also climbed back into the top 20. Another player who stood out with USA Basketball, Brown's size and passing ability have always been his best attributes. He can play a multitude of positions, facilitate at a very high level and open the game up for increasingly common scoring guards. Combine that with an improved jump shot, conditioning and defensive productivity, not to mention sustained consistency across the board, and he was a riser.

If he can consistently shoot it like he did in the FIBA clip above, he'll be a nightmare for teams..

Really interesting article. Really illustrates what a fine line recruiters have to take between showing a prospect love and being annoying.
