Finishing chances makes everything look better. Hoyas need Campbell and Basulevic to score and score often. Only 1 goal to Akron on the road speaks very well of the back four being developed and of course, JT.
I have faith this team will look much better October 1 than it does September 1.

Excellent atmosphere at Ludwig Field last night - standing room only. But the outcome... another last-minute loss... really tough. To be fair, hanging on through OT would've been pretty tough too, the boys were running out of gas, from the looks of it. Maryland just very big and athletic.
Achara is the fastest player I've seen in a Hoya uniform, bar none, and he almost scored a bicycle kick that would've landed him on SportsCenter without a doubt. There will be some fun moments this season!

Very, very, very frustrating outing against the Hokies. There were chances galore for the Hoyas, at least a half-dozen instances where all that was lacking was the final pass, the final touch, the final deflection. Instead, Virginia Tech and their comically garish kits were able to complete the tic-tac-toe with under 10 to play.
This is a young team, so significant learning and progress in the first month or two is certainly possible, but goals and results need to start coming very soon if this team wants to be playing into the cold weather months.

Amen to that. The effort and intensity are there. The boys seem to be pressing, especially in the attacking third.
I have the feeling that one lucky bounce can and will turn this around.

Have a feeling this new squad just needs a couple of wins to gain their confidence. This was a nice start.

If only they could score. Defense doing the job, but two goals in six games, not good. Loss to William and Mary, 1-0. 1-5 for the season.

Very disappointing so far. Afraid they are digging a hole they can't climb out of.

Men win 1-0 at Providence.
Time to put the disappointing out of conference results behind them and run the Big East table again.
Plenty of talent to do big things this year. The coaching is excellent; the keeper and defense are first rate; we are loaded with creativity; we simply need to finish and get some bounces.

Uh, oh, men are guaranteed a worse Big East record than last year.

Uh, oh, men are guaranteed a worse Big East record than last year. Tough season. It has become painfully obvious that they just lost way too much talent from last year...

Bigger question - did we just happen to catch lightning in a bottle the last 2-3 years? A strong program does not nosedive like this. Definite concerns about the future.

If this team were routinely getting handled and not creating opportunities, that would be my concern. This team plays very solid soccer and has enough to win.
Just need some bounces.

Is Achara injured/still on the team?

Even when we score twice we can't get it done this year. Hopefully the underclassmen get the experience needed to bounce back next year.

This has been a tough year but the talent is there as is the system. Coach and the boys will get this figured out.

I don't know 'Vad, couldn't even beat a bottom feeder like Marquette.
