Don't know where else to put it, so I will put this here. My son just got back from the Soccer Camp at GU. Great experience with a tremendous staff. Some seriously talented high schoolers. They stayed in Harbin. I was a New South guy, myself!

Dan - um - might be time for a trip to the optometrist. Fixed. That's what I get for quick posting from my iPhone on the way into a meeting.

Is the game Friday viewable anywhere? Unclear best bet would be to check out akron's website. They'll be showing the game there but unclear if it's free of if you have to pay.

It looks as if it is free, because it just came on to my computer. The Zips are #2 in soccer plus they have (had) the bronze medal winner in the 800m from the Olympics (http://www.gozips.com/sports/track/2015-16/releases/20160824nfg6l9)plus the world champion last year in the pole vault.

Sigh. It's great to kick off another Georgetown sports season with an utterly painful loss.

Sigh. It's great to kick off another Georgetown sports season with an utterly painful loss. Only saw bits and pieces but it looked like Akron had the better run of play. To pull out a draw would've been very fortunate. Did not see the goal I was at a wedding but we started off the year very poorly last year but then went undefeated in conference play. A loss on the road to the #2 country is nothing to hang our heads over. Although it was painful to lose in the last 30s.

Hoyas lost 1-0 to WV today. Remember Hoyas started the Year 0-2-1 last year and then didn't lose the rest of the season (The season ending loss to BS was in PKs so goes down as a tie).
Now that team was a lot more experienced than this year's bunch. We may take our lumps early especially with at trip to #4 Maryland next up, but the point is the team can still round into form in time for BE play and make the tournament if they're able to come together.

yeah, they are going to have growing pains for sure. I was pretty surprised they were even ranked, honestly. They lost a lot of critical players. I wasnt so much criticizing them as I was noting that it was an excruciating loss, as you noted.
