Announced today that for the Gavitt Tipoff game Georgetown will play Maryland on November 15 (tuesday). Something special to get the season rolling. More good news for the off season.

Should stay in if he wants to get drafted ever even if it's the second round. If he comes back he probably has to stay 4 years and make it as an undrafted player through minicamp/DLeague.

That's in the middle or end of finals? Georgetown should not have to go to Syracuse that week. It should be scheduled just like the game this past season, Dec. 5th. Not sure how the scheduling rules work for this game.

They have 4 transfers eligible this year from HM's fwiw... Team should look a lot different tis year..They return their leading scorer also who is a 5th year guy.. Kid can play was hoping he would go the grad transfer route so GTown could get involved Well that's good at least. Would still rather have a bigger name team if we're giving up a home game, but I'm sure we're getting a nice payday to do this and it's not like our schedule is weak by any stretch of the imagination. LaSalle is extremely well coached and have a bunch of guys that can play. They used to be a big rival of ours back in the 60s. The 1968-69 team was arguably one of the best in the country. 4 NBA players. They were on probation so never got to play UCLA. They thought they had Kobe because both his parents played there, but he went pro. Great tradition but have fallen on hard times. We lost to LaSalle in the Quaker City Classic after we beat National Champion Loyola (IL) the night before. (1963-64)

Have a vague recollection of that 68-69 La Salle team. I think they only lost one game.

Jelly Bean as he was called went to LaSalle. He was not on the 68-69 team. He graduated LaSalle in 1975. Great player at LaSalle.

Can someone explain to me how this "tournament" is financially viable?? It cannot possibly make money unless the teams themselves are actually paying to play in them. Is that the case? The promoter has to rent a pro arena for two Saturdays in a part of the country where nobody cares about CBB Why would we travel to Miami to play LaSalle, when we could just play them at home (or in McDonough for that matter) We are going to blow tens of thousands of dollars traveling to FL to play a single game against a team that could have driven to DC. I will be stunned if there are 5,000 people there for those two stinkers of games. And Miami - Wofford? WTF??

Miami does sound nice for a middle of December trip. The HoopHall website says that tickets are available at Ticketmaster. Last night the Ticketmaster website said that the pre-sale would be starting this morning at 10:00 ET, and that tickets for the general public go on sale tomorrow morning at 10:00 ET. But this morning both those statements are gone from the website. Anyone know when tickets are available?

Plus, there is a benefit to playing games on the road, even if they are in a neutral location, so I don't see any problem with it.

FYI - Tickets are now on sale. Just picked up 4th row tickets for $80 each plus fees.
