Huge game that has the potential to set the tone for the season. UMD will be vulnerable after attrition but still should field a solid team.

Will JT3 be able to squeeze a game before the 11/15 MD game? Should he?

Is St. Leo or Howard available for the 11th or 12th in McD?

Maybe UDC (coached by Mike Riley) could come in from Van Ness for a game?

The Maryland game is on Tuesday the 15th and the Maui tournament starts Monday the 21st. I would imagine that with travel, there will not be a game scheduled between those dates. The only way to fit that Maui regional game should be before the 15th. Do we know who are the "Maui regional" opponents? Does that game need to be at Verizon per contract with the Maui tournament?

In Miami? La Salle is a fine opponent, but not sure that is going to be a big draw 1000 miles away from the mid-Atlantic.

There is a concert scheduled for that night at 8pm (Andrea Bocelli), so you figure tip offs will be at noon and 2pm if its a double header. Edit: After poking around the internet, I'm betting this game has something to do with the Hoophall Miami Invitational. Here is the press release from last year's event. Seems to be organized by the MAAC and the Basketball Hall of Fame, so it's a little unclear why we would be playing La Salle...but whatever.

Well, it was organized by the MAAC last year, and there were no MAAC participants in the Miami doubleheader, so that doesn't seem to be a requirement. On Edit: it appears that this a multi-level event (if it follows last year's format): Curiously, a review of the 2015-16 schedules for the four participants in last year's event (UK, Memphis, tOSU and South Florida) shows they all played 2-3 games prior to going to Miami that were considered part of the "Baksetball Hall of Fame Invitational." Interestingly, most of the schools in those games were not members of the MAAC.

LaSalle finished dead last in the A10 last year. They couldn't find us a better opponent? They only graduate 1 senior. Unclear if that's a good thing or not.

They have 4 transfers eligible this year from HM's fwiw... Team should look a lot different tis year..They return their leading scorer also who is a 5th year guy.. Kid can play was hoping he would go the grad transfer route so GTown could get involved

Would still rather have a bigger name team if we're giving up a home game, but I'm sure we're getting a nice payday to do this and it's not like our schedule is weak by any stretch of the imagination.

I think this is actually a really good game to schedule from the Hoyas' standpoint. Because LaSalle plays in a top 7-8 conference, even if it's terrible again, its RPI won't be lower than 150 or so. Most likely, LaSalle will be at worst a mid-tier A-10 team this season (per YaBoy's comment on transfers), so assuming this is a win, should be helpful from an RPI standpoint. And if it's a loss, it won't be an RPI killer (although won't be great if we have a bunch of non-conference losses similar to last year). Pretty similar to the Charlotte game this past season, IMO.

From what I understand, that usually works out really well.
