Mulmore, a 6’4, 180 pound guard averaged 26.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg and 5.9 apg a game for Allegany in junior college play.
His team's leading scorer - by a lot - AND 5.9 dimes/game. He is going to help our guys bounce back with a much better year. Welcome Jonathan!

Good news! Welcome and congratulations to Jonathan and his family.
I love the added guard depth and competition. Get after Tre, Kaleb and LJ in practice.

I'm glad to see they are going back to the JUCO ranks as I'll always remember Jerome Williams who was one of my favorite players in the Iverson days and went on to have a nice NBA career. Hopefully get some maturity and experience that can help with our most glaring weakness.

Who was that assistant coach who convinced the Domingo family their son could skip senior year at St. Ignatius, anyway? Jerome Williams notwithstanding, the Thompson teams of the 1990's were a revolving door and JC signings were the unfortunate result. We often forget the other JC's of that era, from George Butler to Godwin Owinje to Trez Kilpatrick.

Are you so miserable that you won't let him have that?

Would you prefer the staff to sit back and accept failure as opposed to trying to do what they can to remedy the failure? Also, JYD says hi.

They have clearly not done their job in the high school ranks and that's evidenced by what we've seen this past year and what signings they have had. I think with that we agree. This has been a staff with no signs of how to recruit and that's not so say they haven't signed talented players. Just no plan for how to put the system together and fit the pieces. Though most here think that's not the coaches job. This signing is a life preserver being thrown over to try to salvage what could be an equally or worse season next year. However, I think with DSR out our other players will rise up and show more as they would have done this year if he'd followed through on his threat to leave. I'm not defending the overall strategy but hoping for the best here with someone who at least has played at a level beyond HS and was in demand from other big time programs. Hopefully someone who can be immediately accretive.

As I wrote in the Mulmore thread if this guy is as good as some claim then that's a great addition to the team. If he isn't as good then a least he still adds another ballhandler, one with height and some experience. There isn't a downside here unless he is some punk kid who disrupts the locker room.

Though most here think that's not the coaches job. I mostly agree with this. I think this season's team had an abundance of offensive riches, so much so that those scoring droughts were even more acceptable inexcusable than usual. But because the team lacked ballhandlers and creative perimeter players overall there needed to be a better scheme to effectively take advantage of the offensive weapons. And the lack of defense across the board has to be blamed mostly on the coaching staff too.

Let's hope he has a bit of attitude that lights a fire under this team. As good as everyone thinks DSR was for the Hoyas I think others around him didn't step up to play for whatever reasons. For that reason I'm hoping some guys we all thought didn't play well and are hugely talented will show you that next year.

One thing I like about this is that Mulmore obviously balled out this past year to show that he belongs on a D-1 team doing big things. My hope is that he uses this drive to further prove his right to be there and show that he belongs right with the best players his age.

Butler was really good until he got caught cheating.
Also liked Brian Kelly.
