Please for everyone that believes that rooting for Nova is good for the conference: We are past that point......... Nova has already done enough to represent our conference. We are now getting close to our worse nightmares because Nova somehow winning it all will completely rehash all of the bad memories. All of the imagery of the '85 loss will be brought out and we will be watching them plus Nova fans for the next calendar year. I was 10 in '85 so my memories are few but I remember being sick for weeks. Man I give almost anything to be able to replay that game with even a 45 sec shot clock...........

Those who consider rooting for Nova are too young to remember 1985. NEVER!

I hate 'Nova and once punched a hole in the wall of my home during a bad Nova/ GU game during the 1990s. Nonetheless, I love the Big East, and I live in Greensboro, home of That Conference That Shall Not Be Named. I want the BEAST to win one this year - even if it is Nova.
Maybe there is a reason why have a very sick stomach today.
At least dook cannot win this year.

Your hatred for the ACC is noble but rooting for Nova should be a capital offense on this board.

I hear you, Elvado, but as a Big East fan, I want to be able to tell them that our conference beat their butt. From what I recall, you live in or around Philly, so the roles are reversed- you are surrounded by 'Nova fans. You have my respect for not committing a capital offense every day! You do not have to convince me to hate 'Nova- from my perspective, that is a case of res ipsa loquitur. Their awfulness speaks for itself.

More important, Nova winning it all will put a fire under JT3 and the Admin. Another year like this and either Nova or possibly SH going to the FF would pretty well be a final nail in JT3's coffin.

Cause I broke my futon after that game.

You're exactly right. JT3 is sitting around on his ass thinking, "I've got it good. I don't have to change anything or try to improve at all. But damnit, if Nova wins just two more games and wins the title, then I'm going to have to shape up and try to get better." I continued to be amazed at your insight and brilliance. Good job drquigley.

My wife won the high school pool (against basketball and football coaches), where she volunteered (with a little help from me). I convinced her to pick Princeton over UCLA and voila that made the difference.

I'd be devastated if they won. I'm rooting very hard for Oklahoma.

We didn't have a VCR in 1984, so I couldn't tape the GU-Houston game. We had one in 1985 and I taped that game. Never ONCE have I watched that tape. Oh the humanity!

How any self-respecting Georgetown fan can root for Nova or Syracuse is beyond me. Some of us do not consider opponents to be enemies.

Here's my hierarchy. I hope that Oklahoma wins the tournament. But if Nova should beat Oklahoma, I will hold my nose as tightly as possible, and root for them in the finals. There may well be only four teams in the country against whom I would support Nova in the finals, but two of them are playing in the other semi. Syracuse goes without saying, and I also can't possibly support the serial cheaters from North Carolina. I absolutely get the Nova hatred. The only other sports event where I felt that bad was when the Celtics beat the Lakers in 1969. And that wasn't a freaking miracle, so 1985 was worse. But still, I can't root for UNC over Nova.
I doubt that anyone is interested, but the other two teams are UMCP and USC (and that's not South Carolina).
In any case, Boomer Sooner.

Would you consider someone who robbed your house an opponent or enemy? Their Coke-fueled fluke stole our repeat title. I forgive them never. I hate them, and their fans, eternally.

I am rooting for Oklahoma. If Oklahoma loses to Villanova, I will root for Nova over either team from the semifinal from hell. Nova vs Cuse, Nova is clearly the lesser of two evils. Nova vs UNC, at least Nova has done it the right way.

Hard to swallow when you are counting the win and talking trash to them only to have the tables turned that quickly.
