Arguably he should be the only 2019 player the Hoyas are still recruiting. Of course our main focus - but always need contingency plans.

Might be better to save that spot for a very strong 2020 class. Akinjo, Mac, and Mosely are fine for next year to run the point.

If he wants to be a Hoya he is a Hoya. You do not pass on a kid who reinforces an uptempo guard led offense in today's CBB. You do not pass on a kid that will attract eyes to our program ... look what Mac and Akinjo have done for the program.

I've got to think that we still have a good shot with Cole. Given his ties to the coach and the program it would seem like he wouldn't string them along if there was really no shot he was going to sign. Plus we know he's put a fair amount of time in attending games... again, doesn't seem like something that would be done if he wasn't really interested. And all the recent success freshmen have had in the program has to have his attention.
I know nothing about it other than what I read on this board but still... sure does look like we have a legit chance.

Would love to get him, as he seems like that one amazing piece that puts us over the top. I also would like to believe that we have a legit shot. However the timing sure seems like he's waiting to see whether the UNC PG declares.
The good thing is we are going in the right direction either way, although we still need to add a shooter imo.

Coby is definitely declaring, but cole is definitely waiting to make a move until that happens so that he has more complete information.

No doubt White's decision needs to be official. What if White got injured in the NCAAs? If you are Anthony, why rush a decision until all the facts are in? There is no downside to waiting everything out.

There is no downside to waiting everything out. Only an ACL tear would affect Kobe's decision and if that were to happen Kobe wouldn't be ready for next season.....hell he has probably shown enough to declare with a knee injury that's not catastrophic.....Cole is just enjoying the process and I believe he is truly weighing his options....

What sticks out about Georgetown? Patrick Ewing is a really good dude. Heās known my parents for a long time and Iām just a big fan of what heās done for the school. I think heās done a pretty good job of coaching them.
Are you paying attention to things like Coby White potentially going to the NBA? Yeah, we just want to monitor and see who ends up staying at each school and who ends up leaving to make sure we have enough talent as a freshman to make it to the Final Four. Thatās my goal.
Would your decision be impacted one way or another if he stayed or went to the NBA Draft? I have no problem with that. He can score the ball and I think heās more comfortable at the two position. It allows him to go score more. I think we could work together, it would work out.

While I think the Hoyas can be a NCAA tourney team next year, I think even a huge Georgetown fan would struggle to say they are likely to be a final four team next year. While he says he would be OK if White stays at North Carolina, he does not need to worry about that because White has been really impressive and is going to be a top 10 NBA draft pick. I am sure he envisions himself playing the same role as White does this year, for the Tar Heels next year. Time for Coach Ewing to move onto plan B, if he has not already done that!!

Cole would be a dynamic addition to the squad. But I donāt think heās being recruited to fill a departing role nor is the program sunk if Pat misses out on him. This has always been a long shot but I think the coaching staff has played this one perfectly. If he ends up elsewhere there no panic.

If he's going to sign with UNC eventually, since White's decision will not come into play in Cole's decision, why doesn't he do it already? It does not make sense if he's ready to sign with UNC. I know, I know, it's recruiting.
I may be an optimist as to next year, but I believe that if this year's freshmen improve their individual areas of improvement, the sophomores stay and improve as was expected of them this year, Omer and Galen play as advertised, and Qudus is solid defensively and not a hole on offense, and the rest of the players play their roles adequately, we will make the Sweet Sixteen.
My question for Cole would be: are you good enough and ready to be the difference between a Sweet Sixteen team and a FF team?

Yeah, we just want to monitor and see who ends up staying at each school and who ends up leaving to make sure we have enough talent as a freshman to make it to the Final Four. Thatās my goal. These two quotes above are emblematic about where the program is right now. We don't need to blame anyone, but that's where it is. 1. Top recruits are respectful of Ewing but few show the same level of respect to the team, as in "I really want to play with them." When you're born in 1998 or 1999, selling the past only goes so far. 2. If a top recruit expects the bright lights of the Final Four as a freshman, there are no more than six programs on their radar: Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina, Michigan, Michigan State, and probably Louisville. Georgetown is not in that discussion. Tangentially, recruits want to play where they are seen - since everyone is on some form of TV, so they like big crowds. Georgetown's 2018-19 attendance will rank them somewhere around 70th nationally when all is said and done and ninth in the Big East. There needs to be a larger conversation about the state of the fan base that goes a little deeper than "well, if/when we start winning, they'll come back."
