Our fate could turn rapidly with a few more key commitments.

Is Coach Ewing re-recruiting him?

The more I learn about him, the more iffy I am.

The more I learn about him, the more iffy I am. Agreed. It's best he goes somewhere outside the area. He's from a rough area and needs to leave that behind. He likes Buzz Williams a lot.

Just need to be willing to put in the work in the classroom and on the hardwood. Ewing's job is to mold men under his guidance.

I think he could benefit from a year a Oak Hill or Hargrave

Likely true, but perhaps not likely to happen given that he sounds like a pretty sought-after prospect.

A change of scenery will hopefully do Boyd some good.

Kiyon's one of those guys who is inherently smart and astute. Ok, he's from a "rough" area and there are outside influences - he just needs to mature more. He'll blossom and be very successful if he accepts it. A year away for his senior year may be good. But rubs me the wrong way to say he should go somewhere else because he's from a ROUGH AREA. Now, if you'd said his personality or activities were questionable, then that's another story....

What did you learn, what do you know? I don't want to know! Leave that to coaches and recruiters to find out. He wouldn't be getting theses looks and offers if he was a bad egg! Some really trifling and negative stuff gets leaked onto this site sometimes from Hoya fans. Why?

I'm reading that he has 1st hand knowledge about questionable character or activities. If that is the case, he may need to get away from the environment.....that would suck because it looks like we have a very small chance of getting Keldon and Kiyon is #2 on my 2G list.....

Kind of like the "friends" that kept dragging AI into the mud?

Kind of like the "friends" that kept dragging AI into the mud? But AI did leave home. DC is close but it's still 3hrs....a better comp for what POD is saying is Vic Page.....maybe he should've left DC....

That doesn't seem like the most important reason why "that would suck" if that's the case.

Let's wait and see how this unfolds. If he wants to accept the offer, and the staff has done its dye diligence perhaps Coach Ewing and staff will have a heart to heart with Kiyon. This and all other offers would be a big opportunity for this young man, and he should have some counseling about what that opportunity could mean. After all we're recruiting a student athlete not just a basketball player.
