Have to be a serious player here until the end.

Have to be a serious player here until the end. Absolutely. All the high majors are in on Isaiah now and the situation is very volatile. With that said, I believe that we are still favorites to get him. Literally every factor is working in our favor here: -Isaiah is Jamaican and wears #33 (I am only inferring here, let me know if I am wrong) because he looked up to Patrick Ewing, a Jamaican, who HAPPENS TO BE OUR COACH. -Isaiah played two years of High School Basketball at a fantastic Jesuit High School in upstate New York that sends many students to Georgetown every year. -Isaiah has received counsel ( for years? my characterization here could also be off) from one of the most distinguished alumni of our school, who WAS A BASKETBALL PLAYER and played with Ewing. Ultimately, this decision is up to the player. Isaiah is a great player and we are up against basically every major player in college basketball. Hopefully he picks us... I obviously think it would be a perfect fit.

But will his HS coach be a help or a hindrance?

DI: Absolutely. It shows. I know this next question may get a lot of names, but who has come out to Indiana to see you work-out at school? Who have you noticed making the trip? Who is making you feel like a priority?
Stewart: "Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, Syracuse, Villanova, Maryland, Indiana, Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State, Marquette, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Texas, Tennessee, Virginia, DePaul, Georgetown, Xavier, Florida state, Illinois, Ohio State and Virginia Tech ."

WOW, that is quite a list. At one point it sounded like the Hoyas were in a good spot for this player, but it will be an uphill battle to win this recruiting war against that line up of teams.

Very true, most of those teams are some of the top or hottest teams in the NCAA. It's at least good to see us listed with them again.

Isaiah Stewart's recruitment has remained on a steady uptick over the last two years, and the four-star big man has plenty of college suitors. “Things are great," he said. "A lot of schools are staying in contact and a lot of people are wondering when I am going to cut my list. It is coming soon but I think that I am just going to focus on my high school season right now and the list, it is going to get cut some time soon.” Stewart said that Texas, Xavier, Notre Dame and Duke were standing out in his recruitment at this point. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/isaiah-stewart-set-to-cut-list-soon-will-focus-on-high-school-season

This might be the biggest disappointment to me to date...for the last several years we've heard that Patrick has always been his favorite player... it was my understanding that his guardian (I believe) is a GU grad/Orthopedic surgeon in Rochester and has long been a positive influence on him...also, prior to now he attended McQuaid Jesuit HS in Rochester, seemingly an ideal stepping stone to attending GU...I don't have any idea what has happened, but seeing this list with not even a mention of GU is very disconcerting and disappointing...

It would be disappointing if we don't make his list. It seemed like Georgetown was in a good position with this recruit, but it might be a case of him simply outperforming the Hoyas current standing in the college basketball world. If this player is thinking he might be a one and done, and wants to play for a program that will compete nationally in his first year, then he may have stopped considering Georgetown. I hope we stay after him and make the list. You never know what can happen with 18-19 year old kids. The improved performance of Jessie and Marcus this year under Coach Ewing should be something attractive to this player.

We'll be on his list. I wouldn't read too much about him not listing Gtown. He has alot of schools coming after him. Pat and Staff have been on him awhile.

I hope that Patrick has been able to mend, or is working on mending, any hurt feelings that Jaren Jackson -- great Hoya, father of the MSU freshman star, and now a LaLu coach of Isaiah -- may continue to have regarding losing out to JT3 for the GU coaching job and not being retained on staff after Esh's dismissal. People have downplayed this concern, but I don't.

This recruitment changed the moment he transferred high schools imo.. He does have a lot of schools chasing him but the ones he spoke on are leading the way, everyone else appears to be on the outside looking in..

If the La Porte (Ind.) La Lumiere junior duo of top 35 Isaiah Stewart and Rivals150 forward Emanuel Miller is playing like they did on Thursday night, good luck to anybody trying to stop them. Stewart and Miller dominated both ends of the court while combining for 41 points and 29 rebounds in La Lu's 91-65 win over Springfield (Mo.) Glendale. Just a few days ago, Stewart told Rivals.com that Xavier, Notre Dame, Duke and Texas were standing out in his recruitment and it's easy to see why. I remember watching Elton Brand as a high school player 20 years ago and I couldn't help but be struck by how much Stewart reminds me of a young Brand. Strong, skilled and long armed, he's an ideal interior player for today's game who dishes out equal doses of punishment and buckets around the rim while showing touch to 15 feet. As his junior season goes on, Stewart is building a strong case for a move to five-star status in the spring. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/bass-pro-tournament-of-champions-bossi-s-takeaways
