Recent telecasts have done a pretty good job of highlighting where DSR stands on the all-time Hoyas scoring list. Tonight, he should pass David Wingate for #6 all-time in points scored. Barring injury, DSR should pass Othella Harrington in a few games and end up #5 on the total points list - and second among guards, behind #1 overall Sleepy Floyd. Just a big-time scorer during 4 years on the Hilltop.
Although he hasn't gotten as much hype on these fronts, DSR is also climbing the ladder in all-time assists and steals in a Hoyas uniform. With 344 assists, including a career high 108 so far in 2015-2016, DSR is currently #12 overall in Hoyas history. Barring injury, he should pass Bobby Winston and Sleepy Floyd to be #10 within the next 2-3 games. Assuming that happens, DSR will likely go down as the only player in Hoyas history to be a top 5 scorer and top 10 assists man.
In steals, DSR has 157 in his career, placing him 17th on the Hoyas all-time list. He's got a decent shot to end his career in the top 15 on that list as well.
We all know this hasn't been the season we wanted, but this kid has played his heart out for the Hoyas over 4 years. Statistically, DSR's one of the top 5 guards in Hoyas history. Let's send him out with a bang and fans, let's do our best to appreciate him over these next few weeks.

His rebounding is down over the last two years, but he will still end up averaging close to four rebounds per game for his career too. Not bad for a guard.

Even when he was just a role player he know all he had to do was score and rebound...defense was covered in his first few years

He should also be the #1 three point shooter in Georgetown history very soon. Has 237 at this point I believe, and needs 240 to become #1 according to the Countdown to 1000 thread.

Not a bad career for the kid once not-so-fondly referred to as "Buttercup"...

Not a bad career for the kid once not-so-fondly referred to as "Buttercup"... Who was that poster who said DSR would never succeed in the Big East? Don't hear from him much at all anymore.

I think I remember one in particular who harped on it with such certitude it was almost as if there was something personal going on. You are correct. He no longer posts here. I'm guessing he disappeared into the night sometime around DSR's 33 point game his freshman year. Of course, no one really knows when he last posted because he was infamous for deleting his posts that were proven to be laughably off-base.

The HoyaSaxa.com history site has two lists of career assist leaders and the one that you referenced omits Jim Brown's 408 career assists.

OK, then the list you used from guhoyas.com has both Kevin Braswell and Joey Brown listed as #1. Consequently, Bobby Winston is listed as 11 not 12. DSR is currently 13th. He will soon be in the top 10 in assists. He is among my favorite Hoyas. On a side note, does the athletic department ever proof anything?

Unfortunately for DSR, the team's success over his 4 years was not particularly strong. No BET crown. No Sweet 16 appearances. And we may be headed to the NIT in his senior year.
I love his numbers and consistency over 4 years, but I think he necessarily falls below some of the great Hoya guards who were able to post impressive statistical numbers along with team success.
As far as guards go, limited to the modern era, I put Derrick Jackson, Duren, Sleepy, Michael Jackson, Wingate, Smitty, and AI comfortably ahead of DSR. I think DSR, Victor Page, Mark Tillmon, Wallace, Freeman, and Wright comprise a second grouping of Hoya guard greats.

I like this ranking, However, although he only played two years, I really think Victor Page was a phenomenal talent, and definitely above DSR...especially considering how much tougher the Big East was in those days. I would put Victor in the first tier. My recall of Derrick Jackson is limited to a few memories...my impression is that he would fit well in that second tier of Hoya greats.

And, on the bench this year, you will find a Ewing, a Williams, a Mourning, and a Smith-Rivera.
