Three Big East teams continue to be ranked in the AP Top 25, with “GQ Jay” and the Villanova Wildcats moving into the top spot this week, up from #3. Xavier moves up to #5 (#6 last week) and Providence plummets to #20 (#11 last week; shows you what happens when a Big East team loses a road game at DePaul after an injury to a star player. . .not much respect for the conference there). Indiana (#22 last week) and South Carolina (#25 last week) drop out of the AP Top 25, being replaced by Southern California (#23) and Texas (#24).

All games are listed in Eastern Standard Time.

Just a quick reply to NJ's comment on respect for the conference (re: Providence): The Friars lost twice, both at DePaul and at home against Villanova. The Nova game was never particularly close. I'm actually surprised Providence only dropped to #20.

I'm fairly certain that it's not because Duke students have reached their tolerance of whininess and Cottonelle soft play but it may have a little something to do with their team being unranked. I very much doubt that it has anything to do with Louisville.

I suppose it will all play itself out in the end, but Id much rather no one else beat Xavier other than us, especially a bubble team and someone close to us in the BE standings. Xavier is starting to come back a bit.
