"The 6-foot-10 forward from Brewster (N.H.) Academy went off for 27 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks en route to co-MVP honors as Team New York beat Team East, 148-128, at Barclays Center.
"I've been coming to Jordan Brand since I was a kid so for me to play in it was amazing," Thompson, who had 12 family and friends in the building, told SNY.tv. "And for me to win the 'chip, was even better."
On the recruiting front, Thompson says UConn, Syracuse, Georgetown, Seton Hall and Providence are working the hardest, but that he's still open to new schools. Xavier has also been in touch via assistant coach Luke Murray."...
"Georgetown is also in the hunt.
"I know Jagan [Mosely] well so we already had a pretty good chemistry going on so when I left [St. Anthony's] he gave me a call and said you should come back and play with me," he said of the Georgetown-bound guard who led the Friars to a 32-0 season and the New Jersey Tournament of Champions title.
"That's one reason I'm going to go. Coach [John] Thompson [III] is real cool, I've been to a couple of their games. And they run that Princeton offense where a lot of players get touches and I like that."
Said Mosely: "I'm hoping that he comes to us. That would be a big get for us...I've been talking to him for about two months now but I'm going to support him wherever he goes."

These comments sound somewhat encouraging...I'd love to get him because he's a physical post (shot blocker/rebounder) at 6'10 who can score...if I'm reading correctly, he's visited but not officially...I'd book him in after his UConn visit for an official and push hard for a commitment...I'd also love to get Rodney Pryor who at 6'5 is a scoring/rebounding guard and it appears that Antwan Walker is a possibility if he qualifies...don't know how or if we could take more than one more player, but I like that we're in the mix for these three...now we gotta land the fish...

Sounds like a really good recruiting spot to be in. With the way things have been going for us--guards wise and the injury situation--I would love to see a roster that is stacked from top to bottom. Now we still need to be guard wary. And we need to follow through on our commitment to play a more up tempo style.

Why don't we just TTS? JT3 is quite exeperienced with medical redshirts.
And back to Taurean...

Maybe I missed some information in the Bradley Hayes derailing, but is there an indication this kid is a Hoyas lean? And if so, wouldn't that force someone out of our program, given the current scholarship situation?
I'm very impressed by how hard the staff is scrambling to right the ship and hope these short-timers can set us on the path to more stability and better results, but signing Thompson would be a great late get.

The reason the Hayes derailment happened is because I took a step from "Staff is working to get Hayes one more year" to "We must have 1 more semi-open scholarship". To our knowledge there are no scholarships open but JT3 wouldn't be as active in getting one more player in this class (FR, transfer, or RS Sr) unless we had a way of freeing a spot (without throwing a player out). As far as TT, not sure if he is a Hoya lean but we made his final 5. Can't ask much more from one of the top remaining 2016 prospects. Especially a guy that looks like he can fill the role being asked of big men in the NCAA now.

Couldn't he also be a preferred walk on like Mourning?

What about Cameron? Couldn't he also be a preferred walk on like Mourning? I think the difference is that we officially recruited Cameron, whereas we did not officially recruit Mourning in a way that requires us to give him a scholarship.

Couldn't he also be a preferred walk on like Mourning? Cameron took an official visit, so I think he has to count against our scholarship limit, regardless of whether the school is actually paying his tuition. I don't think Mourning was "officially" recruited under NCAA rules, so he doesn't automatically count against our scholarship limit. It's obviously a guess on my part, but I think that Trey was recruited (with the full understanding of the Mournings) "unofficially" to allow for this possibility, and that Trey basically has first dibs on any open scholarships.

MOD NOTE: OK, that's enough speculation about who might or might not have scholarships, convert to walk on status, etc. Confine the discussion to the recruit please. If the recruit commits, the attendant chips will fall at that time. Not fair to the individual players to specu-discuss it here.

No, I think Big Brother is right in this instance. I, too, was wondering where the conversation was going.

Seton Hall fans/insiders believe he is their's to lose. They believe cuse is out and that they've passed Uconn. No mention of us by them. TTFWIW.
