That was a great finish and one well worth rewinding on the PL Network feed. Big credit to a defense which held Bucknell scoreless two straight times inside the 20 yard line to end the game, and for reserve QB Tim Barnes leading the G-men on a 94 yard drive for the crucial touchdown in the fourth.
On to Lehigh.

5 points away from being 3-0 vs scholarship PL teams. 2-1 as is.

At Lehigh, vs. Fordham, at Holy Cross to round out season. Outside of Fordham, the Patriot League is a hot mess, ahem, wide open. 2-1 finish is not an unreasonable possibility - I don't think the Fordham game is winnable, but the other two may be. Of course, having followed this program for a while, 0-3 is probably more likely.
Still not sold on this program and its future, but at least they're looking somewhat competitive as a non-scholarship program in a scholarship league at the moment.

I mean, I guess I have an advantage in that I know CAHoya personally and know he's not coming from a place of malice or whatever... but, like, it's not as if the only thing standing between Georgetown and football glory is fan negativity. Much the opposite - the problem isn't supporters (or potential supporters) reacting negatively to the program not meeting their expectations, it's that they have no expectations. It's widespread apathy.
Someone not sold on a program is someone who wants to be sold on it. It has long felt like each day brings with it fewer and fewer people in the market looking to buy a stake in Hoya football.

Nicely put, thanks. I want Georgetown football to succeed. I am generally the eternal optimist about Hoya Hoops, but after 10+ years of following Georgetown football, and given the new lay of the land, I am still extremely skeptical with this program and where it fits. I do hope they prove me wrong. They've put together a decent season so far, exceeding most's expectations, I think, I hope they finish strong.

Yea, I mean, that's sort of the crux of it - when expectations are so low, success is much more eminently achievable. There's not very many schools where a 4-4 record, with a close win over Columbia and a player facing a terrifying injury and grueling rehabilitation, would be considered a great season. But Georgetown is such a place.
