We definitely need a shooter and a lot more. It’s very frustrating considering the past success of the program. Losing at home to Harvard should not happen.
The BE was down considerably this year as far as talent is concerned. I could be missing someone but other than Greg Monroe not sold on Louisiana for recruiting major contributors - good role players - yes.
I’d operate from a recruiting perspective in the D.C. metro area, Carolina’s, NY, VA, Houston, Dallas, Detroit/ Flint/ Saginaw, MI, Chicago and the Bay Area. Granted there are outliers but I believe kids from these areas are receptive to Georgetown and also see and play against intense talent night in and night out.

Or Steve Martin.

I don’t think we need another forward. Give me a skilled shooter to round out this class. Absolutely. Number 1 need by miles is a 3 and D guy. They added a possibility to fill that role in Alexander, but you still need another. We lose 2 of our 4 best shooters with Govan and GMal out. Don’t want another PF. Can’t take another C. Don’t want another PG. Bring me a 2 or 3 who can stroke it first and foremost and maybe defend as a bonus. 2s and 3s - nobody else need apply.

I thought Malinowski was going to be our shooter this year. He really faded at the end of the season. Wish we could have bottled his Butler performance.

I liked Malinowski, but it seemed like he couldn't get squared up with his feet set consistently enough. I don't know if it was a function of our offense not creating open looks, or something he was/wasn't doing. Appreciated that he always played hard though.

P. McDonald - very nice guy, exceeded expectations. Great complimentary piece playing along side pro’s (R.Williams & A. Mourning).
I’m hopeful we land Cole Anthony then we can ad complimentary pieces around him.
The aforementioned areas of the country referenced the staff needs to have a recruiting presence if we have an expectation to consistently be relevant on a national scale. In my opinion our current focus areas will have us competitive in the BE at best. If we continue to do the same thing how can we expect to have a different outcome?
The loss to Harvard at home should never happen.

There appeared to be a player/recruit with a yellow-gold sweater vest sitting with possibly his mom directly behind our bench last night...any body know who it was...Galen?

Georgetown expressing interest in 2019 G Hakim Hart. He posted in his Instagram story a letter from Georgetown. Plays on same AAU team as Donta Scott. Knockdown shooter. www.verbalcommits.com/players/hakim-hartJust decommitted from SJU, worth a look as the shooter for this class. He was the best player on a team that included 4 stars: Seth Lundy, and Lynn Greer.

Jason Gibson made first-team all met and is the only kid uncommitted. I hope we're at least talking a PWO slot. That would be good. Surprising he doesn't have more/better offers. Wouldn't be surprised if they came over the next few weeks. JTIII should offer him, if he ends up at W&M, GW, St. Joes, etc. He needs a prep year for real offers, but he's 10x the player Malinowski is/was coming out of HS.

Something to keep track of- Vanderbilt is letting go of Bryce Drew and Alabama is moving on from Avery Johnson.
Vanderbilt has three commits, including 4-star PF Dylan Disu, 4-star SG Austin Crowley, and 3-star PG Scotty Pippen (sound familiar?).
Alabama has three commits as well. 4-star SF Juwan Gary, 4-star SG Jaylen Forbes, and 4-star SG Jaden Shackelford. All three are in the top 100 for 24/7.
I would be thrilled if we could land any of these guys besides maybe Pippen since its not a need.

Unless we can land Anthony, I would wait for Davis or Baldwin for PG in ‘20. If we opt to sign another 4-year ‘19 kid, he needs to be a stud. Maybe, a wing with a sweet stroke. Someone who can play SG/SF. We did just pick up Alexander though.

Bob Walsh, the former head coach of Maine, is now on staff at IMG. Pat scheduled Maine last season and they seemed to have a rapport. I hope it pays dividends. 😎👍🏻

Unfortunately I can't imagine he would be an option with 14 centers in our incoming class and Yurt. I believe he sat the whole year w/an injury (Fleming that is)...

Hope the staff is doing their due diligence on these guys and all the others coming out soon. Give me a wing or two to round out the class.

Disu (committed to Vandy) is an intriguing prospect if he’s open to heading further east. 6’8” and shoot 40% from three in his senior year. Also averaged 23ppg 11rpg and 1.5 bpg, though I don’t know the level of competition.

"It’s a brand new game for us," his father said. Crowley is ranked No. 121 overall in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, but No. 69 overall and the No. 9 shooting guard in the Top247. Crowley is a native of Mississippi, but is playing his senior season at Wichita (Kans.) The guy who I'd want most on that list is Jaylen Forbes. Great shooter and high level bucket getter. He played some games with Louisiana Elite last summer so maybe we have some connections there for obvious reasons..
