Oh and I guess I have to say navy/black helmets on the navy jerseys on the navy pants look terrible. I guess I should probably follow that up with "hey kids get off my lawn."

A very important win for more than the football. FOR NUMBER two. wish him well. IT is about much more than the game Prayers here.. This win may have been one of the most important in hoya history for this team as a group of young men facing a teammate's struggle. Best of luck to him snd HONOR NUMBER TWO> THATS THE way to go hoyas... to play in the face of adversity This am in Dahlgren Chapel a very large young man with a football jersey went up the the tabernacle on the side. He kneelt down and said a prayer and kissed the tabernacle and then left. Not sure but it looked like a teammate.. Let's all pray.. hoya family.

Oh and I guess I have to say navy/black helmets on the navy jerseys on the navy pants look terrible. I guess I should probably follow that up with "hey kids get off my lawn." Agreed. And while no one wants Georgetown to go the way of Oregon or Maryland, these jerseys look like they came out of a Nike catalog where it's an option on page 14. If you took the smallish "Hoyas" off the jersey, would you recognize these at a glance as being Georgetown? For that matter, they could be Rice: That, and the fact that the white (road) jerseys weren't even ordered make it look like a cost decision.

I would add I'm not adamantly against all the new-fangled uniforms that generally look like they are targeting teenage boys taste (because they probably are.) But these are just really crap. Our old helmet was one of the best in IAA and was instantly recognizable as a Gtown uniform even for those unfamiliar with IAA football-something that is quite rare at this level. I think someone might have designed something in a bold new style that kept the gray/silver tone of the helmet- which unlike blue/black works very well with both our home and away jerseys.
To be honest those Rice uniforms are miles better than these new ones but nowhere near as good as last year's home unis. Can anyone confirm if the new helmets are navy or black? I sure hope they are blue, because there is nothing tackier than adopting black as a uniform color when it is not a school color. Harvard has been trying and failing to get away with this for a couple of decades now.

One thing that I think would make the Blue / Black Helmets WAY Better would be a Gtown G on the one side and if they wanna keep the number on the other fine.
Watching on a video feed last weekend, the helmets looked really plain and NOT Gtown b/c their was no signature G.....put it on one side at least!

I guess our biggest problem is the uniforms and helmets.

I guess our biggest problem is the uniforms and helmets. Was someone stopping you from contributing your own substantive thoughts on improving the wins and losses with no scholarships or college stadium in a scholarship FCS league? Dynamite contribution yourself. Some of us who have been following the program for 20 years realize changing the uniforms for the better might be the only plausible improvement to be made in the current University environment re: football program.

thebin, I have contributed many tens of thousands of dollars to GU football, didn't contribute for new uniforms and helmets. Thought I could make a difference, change the direction. Clearly not going to happen.
Time to allocate resources to a more productive enterprise.
