We realize not all viewers to the HoyaTalk board regularly visit the HoyaSaxa.com pages and want to provide everyone an update on the condition of junior Ty Williams (C'17), who was seriously injured Saturday afternoon in the Georgetown football opener vs. St. Francis.
Sports Illustrated is reporting via a Montgomery County football web site that Williams underwent nine hours of surgery Saturday following a collision with a St. Francis wide receiver which broke five bones in Ty's neck and vertebrae. The latest reports via social media indicate that he remains unconscious but has some response in his upper and lower body.
The football page (http://www.hoyasaxa.com/sports/football.htm) will post all updates as available. There is also a thread on the Hoyatalk football board to discuss further.
On behalf of the extended Georgetown community, our prayers are with Ty, his family, and his teammates at this time.
