Both defenses made two elite quarterbacks look ordinary, at best.

Both defenses made two elite quarterbacks look ordinary, at best. Manning is one of the great quarterbacks in the history of the league, but he's no longer an elite quarterback. To his credit, he played better than I expected him to play yesterday, and it would be a great story if he could go out on top, but I just don't think he has it in him. The Bronco defense was phenomenal yesterday. I don't think they'll be able to do to Newton what they did to Brady, but we'll see.

For all of his pre game nonsense, Superman played a lot like Clark Kent (and went after that late fumble like Lois Lane).

Eh, can't really blame Cam given how badly his offensive line played, just like I didn't blame Brady when he wasn't able to do much of anything in the AFC championship game for the same reason.

Games like yesterday are why players should shut up, play the game and then talk about it. Funny how little he had to say after he crapped the bed.

Again, I don't see how he crapped the bed, no objective person could say he's the reason they lost yesterday. I'm curious how badly a non-mobile quarterback would have been destroyed by that defense with that offensive line. Also, I'm not overly concerned about a player that "talks". I'm sorry you find it unprofessional or some other nonsense, but we're talking about a borderline barbaric sport where people get paid to destroy their bodies and shorten their lives for entertainment, so it feels a little weird to be be discussing decorum.

We will agree to disagree. He may not have lost the game but he damn sure did not win it. He had volumes to say before the game and pouted like a 5 year old after it. He should have stayed there and answered the questions like a leader would. He should have run as fast from Von Miller as he did from his press conference. He is young and may learn to be a man when things go bad. Here's hoping so.

There's so many cringe-worthy parts of this post, especially calling someone a child and questioning a whether they're a "man" or not.. By your definition, Peyton wasn't a "man" when he didn't shake hands after losing the Super Bowl, when he was 33. Or is it ok since Peyton was his normal "oh shucks" self before the game?

Cam didn't handle post game too well. I don't care about his talk. That doesn't bother me. I'd pull against him even if he didn't. Carolina remains ringless!

Wooo!!! Great day today here in Bronco country. Woke up to an orange sunrise and a state in a great mood.
I really wish I would've put money on this game, the odds were ridiculous. #1 regular season defense is now 10-2 when they play in the Superbowl.

I think Cam Newton deserves the criticism he's getting for being a sore loser and then walking out of the postgame press conference. When Cam Newton was winning 17 of 18 games coming into the Super Bowl he would go overboard with his celebrations after first downs and touchdowns. After he gets humbled by Denver's defense in the Super Bowl he behaves in a juvenile manner at the post game press conference!! Mike Wilbon mentioned on PTI earlier today that he's stood in front of several guys(Ernest Byner after his fumble cost the Browns a win in an AFC Championship Game is one he mentioned)in a post game after a gut-wrenching defeat in a big game, and they stood/sat there, and answered every question like a professional. Cam Newton has always behaved like this throughout his NFL career but everyone forgot because its been over a year since he's really lost.
It will be interesting to see how soon Cam Newton and Carolina will get back to this point. Prior to this year, Cam had been around .500 in his 4 seasons with Carolina. It's not as if they've had a string of strong seasons that culminated in a 15-1 Super Bowl run this year. Is this the beginning of a dominant run for Cam and Carolina or will they go back to being 7-9, 8-8 or 9-7!!
