Right, they probably don't. Anyway, that's irrelevant to the fact that the investigations themselves have become (if they weren't to begin with) a complete farce.

That they have become a farce seems sadly appropriate given the abject lack of concern before and the craven lying after the events in question. I am quite comforted to know Hillary told Chelsea the truth while Susan Rice was spouting her garbage to the nation.

After they've literally confirmed that the fruitless investigations were basically 'worth it' because they caused political damage to Hillary (who I don't support in any way, shape, or form), it takes a lot of gall to still produce these crocodile tears.

Nicely parried. Hillary is a liar but it doesn't matter because the folks who went after her on it are worse. I get it.
If you are not troubled by Mrs. Cointon's pathological aversion to the truth (whether you support her or not) that is your call to make.

Or conversely, the fact that she is not a trustworthy politician does not automatically turn efforts to politically discredit her into a serious investigation.

We agree. The investigation was and is a joke. That said, I would not believe her if she told me my own birthday.

C'mon, Elvado, we all know that you are a closeted Bernie Sanders supporter.

So cynical of you - maybe she was just sincerely confusing that with her willingness to send other people to fight and die in order to bolster her political 'toughness' credentials.

Let me get this straight :
Maureen Dowd is skeptical of this because she thinks it's a given that Hillary Clinton would have definitely put her own career on the backburner for Bill's? Or that their engagement/marriage would have stopped her looking for ways to further her political career? Or that a 21-year-old marine recruiter would have been dismissive of an anti-war Wellesley grad?
We are talking about Hillary Clinton, right?

Putting aside all of her resume "accomplishments" it becomes readily apparent that Hillary Clinton "exaggerates" or "lies" as reflexively as most of us breathe.

It is at least plausible that she might have inquired about being a JAG in the Marine Corps Reserves, the kind of National Guard/Reserves position often used by Southern politicians and their family members to establish military/veteran bonafides. In fact, it sounds like something Bill might have suggested for her to look into in order to help his political career in Arkansas.

It is equally plausible that she went there wearing her Yankee cap, armed with the he knowledge that she was named for Sir Edmund Hillary. She was likely inspired to go there by an offensive Internet video.

Donald Trump to Bill O'Reilly: "I'm probably the least racist person on earth." Donald Trump to George Stephanopoulos: "There were people that were cheering on the other side of New Jersey, where you have large Arab populations. They were cheering as the World Trade Center came down." With regard to Syrian refugees, Trump said: "And the number he (President Obama) wants is much higher than 10,000. I've heard it's 200,000. That's the real number." Later, the whopper gets even worse: "That's the real number he wants. I've even heard 250,000 people." Donald Trump, like Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, and others, is running a fact free campaign. And to think, he actually leads the Republican field for the nomination! Given this hilarity, I actually don't miss Michele Bachmann at all!

Actually I don't. The sad truth is that only idiots argue facts. My gripe with Mr. Obama is the conclusions he draws from certain facts...

WaPo editorial board slams TrumpActually, it saddens me that in the 21st century, Donald Trump leads and dominates the race for the Republican nomination. He's David Vitter on steriods with a national platform. But I hope he gets it, cause he'll never win the presidency!

Pretty stunning that GOP candidates can't condemn a domestic terrorist without worrying they will offend fanatical anti-abortion rights base.
