Standig's interview with JT3 indicates he is the player who has improved the most and will be included in the rotation.
Congrats on your own thread!
I may be alone on this....but I love to follow the journey of the guys that have to work to get there. He certainly had some tailwinds but it is clear he has been putting in the effort to contribute.

Could anyone have questioned a Mourning's work ethic...!
This is outstanding news. Nice work, Trey!

Also....I am sure everyone on the team has worked hard...probably most in Division 1. I have just seen bits that allow me to see how hard he is working.

Thanks to the only regular coverage of the KL which is found on Casual Hoya and a few posts on these boards, I've formed an opinion that Trey has done extremely well for himself this summer so far as showing progress and being a major factor on his KL team. It amazes me how little fans seemed to have picked up on this. I was meaning to show him some love in the Kenner League thread until I came across this thread. Trey could be a year of away (in terms of strength and seasoning) from being a big time player for the team. Recall his high school highlights? That touch, that great footwork those back-to-the basket moves, those turnaround jumpers? It has been my opinion that if he was able to adjust to the huge leap in competition and still retain those scoring skills that he would be a major steal for the program. The fact that he is demonstrating great work ethic and that from all reports he was displaying competitive fire and tough defense in the KL this summer only reinforces my beliefs.

I love Trey's potential and I know he has the work ethic and pedigree to eventually become a legit heavy contributor to this team before his time on the Hilltop is over. I wish we redshirted him last year!

And for those who may not have seen it, Trey was the only player on our roster on the All-Big East Academic Team (3.0+), which is also laudable.

And I don't think Zo would ever allow him to leave early if he developed to the point where that was an option.

Yeah, he has good size and in HS he showed very nice touch and game smarts. He looked to be a guy that needed to put on some weight and get used to top-level competition every night, but the potential was certainly there, and it's nice to read that he's still working hard to make himself better. Remains to be seen what happens, but even when he got in for short stints last year, I thought he looked like he belonged -- in other words, he needed to get stronger, but he didn't do much to hurt the team out there. I hope he makes his own name for himself over the next few years, and I'm very glad he's a Hoya!

I can only imagine how proud Zo (and Tracy) must be of Trey for choosing a path that isn't an easy one. His dad left some MASSIVE shoes to fill. It's exceedingly easy to root for Trey to make his own mark. By all accounts, he's putting in the effort to do that both on the court and in the classroom. Alonzo has often mentioned in interviews how much he values his education at Georgetown and has clearly passed that down to his kids and it's things like that that make me love where I went to school. Tip of the cap to the Trey for choosing to take on the extra scrutiny of attending his dad's alma mater. The time in school is short even though it doesn't feel that way at the time. Here's to hoping that Trey finds a role and that he excels in it and kills it in class too. He doesn't need to be his dad in any capacity. He just needs to fulfill his own potential and it's great to hear that he's putting in the work to do just that. I can't wait to see the results of his efforts. Keep working Trey! Hoya Saxa!

Man, I have not seen JT speak so glowingly of one of his players in a long time. And I do believe this is truly irrespective of the player's last name and pedigree. What a tremendous plus this would be for the team if Trey does take his game to that next level!

Its really good to see the hard work paying off for him!

You know, I think this kid is extra special, especially when you stop to consider that he could have come in saying, "Hey, I am Alonzo Mourning's son." However, he seems to have adopted the attitude that he wants to succeed in his own right, on his own terms. Love Trey for his focus and work ethic!

Also remember those videos Trey was in with that dude from handlelife? If he's putting on size/gaining ball handling skills theres no reason to suggest he wont be a star in the next couple years.
