Welcome young Mr. Mosely! You made a great choice. Looking forward to seeing you on the court.
For the board, is Mosely our first commit from St. Anthony's and Bob Hurley since Anthony Perry back in the day? I always liked Perry. The NCAA stole his freshman year, then apologized later for what they admitted was their mistake. Perry started playing for JT who resigned midway through his first season. After that, his career was in the hands of Esh. IMHO, Esh badly mismanaged a significant talent. Maybe not the Top 5 guard he was rated coming in, but still a very talented kid. I never met him, but a few folks I knew spoke very highly of the person Perry was. Water under the bridge at this point. I certainly hope and expect Mr. Mosely and GU will have a much better experience.

Hoyas have had a tough time trying to land top rated guards in recent years. Now they have signed two guards, or maybe even three if we include Johnson, who weren't rated as highly but appear to have significant upside. Seems like a change, or broadening, in recruiting strategy. Good move. If what you are doing isn't working, try something else.
Yes, over the years JT3 has brought in Wallace, Sapp, Freeman, Wright, Clark, Starks, DSR & Trawick... but recent recruiting results at guard have been disappointing. In the front court, lots of success with Roy, Jeff, DaJuan, Monroe, Porter, Henry, even GW before he fell off the rails. Add in the current rising soph class, Govan and Derrickson - our 3/4/5 recruits have been great - including recently.
FYI: I also like Tre Campbell a lot and think he will have a terrific career at GU. We got glimpses last year and I was pleasantly surprised. Much better than I'd been led to believe.
I like this HOYA team. And we have kids such as Agau, Hayes, Trey Mourning and even Kaleb, One or two of whom will surprise us and be a significant contributor this season - ok, that's just my hunch.

Like this pick up a lot. Good attitude, hard worker, good student, tough, athletic, good length, excellent defender... Jagan really meets a lot of the check boxes from my perspective. The only thing he needs is to build his skills, and that's fine--he's got another year at St. Anthony's and 4 years at Georgetown to improve his outside shooting and ballhandling. You can see that the ingredients are there in his tape, he just needs to get a little more consistent with it. But I'm happy to have a guy with a high ceiling and think Mosely's future is pretty bright. I really like his enthusiasm for the school too. Committed to Georgetown shortly after visiting and getting the offer and really seems to be all in. Now, let's grab Curtis Jones or Bruce Brown to slot in next to him. Need 2 guards this year, after only bringing in one true ballhandler in the last 3 classes. Campbell, Johnson, Mosely and Jones or Brown would be a really solid core of young guards, with Foster coming in the following year. I think he pretty much decided during the visit. Look at all the Georgetown paraphenalia that him and his family are wearing in those pictures. Must have stocked up at the bookstore during his visit.

"My family, mostly my parents, we were trying to figure out if I should go to a school that's mostly academics or mostly basketball," Mosely said. "When Georgetown came in, it was a perfect fit. It was a perfect balance between basketball and academics." There really is a niche for these types of guys -- usually Duke, Stanford and one or two others would be the destination of choice, but there's no reason this can't be a real Georgetown strength. Good job staff, and welcome, JM! Love this announcement, kind of surprise his family didn't feel UVA fit the mold of a strong basketball and academic school as well. Not complaining just surprised.

Yet another recruit that knew almost instantly he wanted to be a Hoya. We get a lot of those. I suppose maybe a lot of schools do, but we offer a relatively differentiated package and those that connect with it often don't need to look very long.

This is great news. This kid is exactly what we've been missing lately; a kid with the athleticism and desire to be a great on-ball defender. He has the toughness of Jabril, but more athleticism and offensive upside.
This is also the kind of real student-athlete that makes you proud to root for this program and JTIII.

Solid pickup by the staff and am hoping he could be the guard that defies expectations, blossoms into an All-American/lottery pick and becomes the player recruits look at as an example of what they could do at his position at Georgetown. The physical tools are there.
Welcome aboard Jagan.

Physique-wise, this dude was a man child as a junior in high school. Jabril is probably a very good comp. I'd take another Jabril, tough as nails, glue guy.

If he's as good as Braswell, I'll be thrilled.

The Kenner League battle between Perry and Francis was epic.

Watching the film I don't see Jabril at all. This kid is far more athletic than Jabril. We haven't had a player with this skillset in the program in a long while. Jabril even in his high school tapes would get to the cup by just bullying people. This kid has Westbrook like explosive leaping ability and speed.

According to his article on Zagsblog, Mosely decided during his visit he was going to commit. He fell in love and knew right away he was going to commit. You look at the recruits we have signed the last few years, they all seem to have the same immediate reaction during their visits. The kids that visit and don't commit within a 2 week period after the visit we don't seem to get. Either you love Georgetown or you don't. Zagsblog-Jagan Mosely to Georgetown
