So much for the commitment-watch chatter... Wow...not exactly what you're hoping to see the Monday after an official visit in which he hung out with A.I.

Glass half empty: Ouch! Is it down to Moultrie and Walker?
Glass half-full: Or maybe he feels that Troy Brown will commit to GU and does not want to be recruited over? (Ha-ha!)

So much for the commitment-watch chatter... What the heck does that even mean? He hadn't committed anywhere.... he wants more schools to recruit him?? Weird

So much for the commitment-watch chatter... What the heck does that even mean? He hadn't committed anywhere.... he wants more schools to recruit him?? Weird I would think that's exactly what he means. He had cut his list down to 4 or 5 schools so I assume now he'd like to consider more than just those 4 or 5. Wouldn't shock me if Maryland and Indiana have stopped recruiting him, given where they are with some of their other targets that are ahead of him. So there are a couple of teams out of his top 5 that are potentially no longer in the running. Who knows if what he experienced this weekend had an effect on his decision. Maybe he tried to commit and the Hoyas wouldn't accept until they found out what was going on with Brown and/or Waters? Any number of things could have happened, but after this decision, kind of hard to see Beatty and the Hoyas being a match.

Sounds like he isn't happy with his options because the top programs are passing on him. Pass on this kid. He's "re-opening" his recruitment when he wasn't committed anywhere. Now he'll probably be a spring signee, he will sign with a good program as their plan c or d option and get buried on the bench instead of choosing a school that had a plan for him.
I said earlier I wasn't a big fan. He strikes me as an inefficient scorer who doesn't stuff the stat sheet.

I've seen this before , opens up his recruitment , lands at another school and comes to DC to smack the Hoyas. Then we'll hear "Damn , wish he signed with G.U" The kid can play , maybe not a pure PG .. but has that dog in him and will help a program. Not saying he is a program changer , but whatever. Hopefully the chips will fall. The most important thing right now is to win this season. Everything else will fall into place.

So it looks like Friday night Saturday morning will be what we've all been waiting for. Come on Midnight Madness, come on recruits sign on the dotted line and lets get this over with! Strangely enough I like all our options, some more then others, but I feel the staff has got the right group of kids to the table.

My guess is one of two things happened last weekend. 1.) The staff was showing way more love to Troy and DB felt unloved or 2.) Beatty was ready to pop and the staff said slow down. Hoping for a Waters/Brown backcourt.....either way Beatty won't be a Hoya.....

I'm a little disappointed...I think he would have done well at Georgetown. He may still end up a Hoya, stranger things have happened, but don't like the turn this recruitment has taken. At the end of the day, I trust Jt3 and the staff.

At the end of the day, I trust Jt3 and the staff. He was billed as a scrapper with some Jabril in him. If nothing else, the attitude/mentality we always seem to be a little short on when JT3 and others are coming across as too placid/stoic in the face of uninspired play. Can't help but feel that many of our worst wounds on the recruiting trail are self-inflicted.

I was just talking about a St. Johns article where Sir'Dominic Pointer was complaining or rather complimenting the Hoyas on tough play.

At the end of the day, I trust Jt3 and the staff. Sounds like you're hinting that Gtown wasn't ready to take a verbal from Beatty at this time.. Full disclosure I wasn't as high on him as I had been so I'm ok if this is their decision but it will make me question their recruiting methods again.. Why have the youngster come to a big Gtown event if you weren't ready to take a verbal from him? The kid got to meet Gtown royalty on Thursday, got to witness what looks to be a ridiculously spectacular athletic center, it's not hard to see him wanting to sign up.. If they were unsure about Beatty, wouldn't it have been better to wait on the visit, keep the options open? They spent a lot of time/effort recruiting him to waste it imo..

But most specifically this: "They spent a lot of time/effort recruiting him to waste it imo.." Why go to such lengths to get a kid excited by the prospect of being a Hoya... if you're not ready for him to be a Hoya? Feels like another opportunity flushed down the toilet.

Its just as likely he isn't sure he wants to be a Hoya and wants to visit other places. Either way, it seems like the visit , AI being around, may have been a wasted effort. Its been awhile since we read any good news on the Recruiting portion of HT.

Hard to decipher, whether we wanted to bring him to campus at some point, keep him on the hook depending on what happens with our other (preferred?) options; maybe the kid was pushing for this particular scheduling and we wanted to accommodate that.
Agree that a positive recruiting result would lighten the mood here.

Meanwhile Moultrie continues to get love from UGA, and will visit this coming weekend.
If Waters and Brown pass, we could be back to -- Walker & 2 SRDs.
