www.madehoops.com/news_article/show/640986?referrer_id=1272156“I’m turning into a point guard because that’s what I’m going to have to be on the next level so I might as well start working on it now,” said Beatty. “I have the body for a two guard, but I do like leading a team and being another coach on the floor. I’m working on being more efficient and leading my team to wins.” Due to his big high school season his recruitment has heated up. Several high major programs are contacting him frequently. “Georgetown, Seton Hall, Arizona State, South Carolina, La Salle, UCLA, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Florida State, Florida, Temple and Indiana have been in contact with me a lot lately,” he said. Two schools stopped by his school last week and one Big Ten school could visit him shortly. “Temple came to see me this past week and Pittsburgh came to see me as well,” he said. “Indiana Head Coach Tom Crean will come see me soon. He said that he likes my game a lot and also believes that I am a tough player.

DAVID BEATTY, G, PHILLY PRIDE, 2017: The buzz is beginning to louden surrounding David Beatty and rightfully so. The 6-foot-4 combo guard is the definition of a fierce competitor. While there is still debate surrounding whether Beatty is a lead guard or more of a scorer-type with the ball in his hands, one thing that isn’t in question is just how competitive he really is. The Philly native already sports a college ready body and the willingness to fight it out with guys much bigger than him near the basket. Posting games of 22, 13, and 18 points in three separate contests in Indy give easy insight as to why Florida State thought that the Pride star was worthy of an offer from the ACC bunch, which they dished out to Beatty on Monday morning.

www.scout.com/college/maryland/story/1670290-beatty-talks-up-terps-offer-visit“I just want to find a nice university with a cool staff, a good supporting cast, and a place whose coaches want what’s best for me and my family. And I’d like to play right away – that’s big too,” Beatty said. “I don’t really have a decision date in mind, either. When I find the right fit, I’ll just commit. I’m not going to wait if I feel right at a certain school.”Many kids seem to take this view point..

David Beatty, 2017 SG, Philly Pride: The powerfully built 6'4" wing has had an excellent spring on the Under Armour circuit, and it's showing with his recent offer list. Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Pittsburgh & Virginia have all offered the penetrating shooting guard in recent weeks, and the St. Benedict's Prep (NJ) product should continue to mount more offers over the months of June and July.

Has been consistently inconsistent this summer.. Started the weekend off with 2 mediocre games around 10 in each a couple assts etc...
When his shot is going he looks pretty good when it's not he struggles to adjust. The games I've watched he also struggled to beat kids off the bounce which was a surprise. Has anybody that's seen him noticed the same thing or seen something different?

From what I have seen of him play, it's going to be hard for College Coaches to get a real strong read on his true abilities this sp so far. Do you play him off the ball or on the ball? Can he beat defenders off the bounce and finish at the basket consistently. I've seen him miss point blank layups this Spring then come down and knock down a contested 25 footer. I've also seen him make a tough finish at the rim and miss wide open perimeter shots. He definitely has a college ready frame. I love his potential and physical makeup but can't figure out his game and mental makeup.

Sometimes he reminds me of a poor mans Dion Waiters in regards to the poor decision making and shot selection. That doesn't make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside... Then you watch him against Findlay Prep and he looks terrific.. Idk but him struggling to get past defenders on the bounce was a surprise..

His game and play is SO CONFUSING. Physically he's blessed with a college ready frame, very good athleticism and high level skill. But his play at times leaves a lot to be desired. I couldn't blame JT3 and staff if they stayed clear of him. Of course if they do stay away, I'm sure he will blow up in college. Damned if you do...
