Pat Lawless @givengobball
Nazreon Reid, a class of 2018 PF playing for Sports U (NJ), has picked up an offer from Georgetown.

From Rivals: Although Nazreon Reid only scored two points, the athletic big man definitely impacted the game. The 6-foot-9, 222-pounder is a good area rebounder, blocks shots and has good anticipation on defense. Reid runs the floor like a guard, handled the ball some in transition and showed nice form on his three-point attempt from the top of the key. Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, N.C. State, Seton Hall and St. John's have all made early offers to Reid. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1783702

Committed to LSU. New coach has picked up several top 50 talents since being hired this past spring.

Makes one wonder when you see kids from Connecticut, New Jersey, etc. with national reps. commiting there to a young, new coach without any major success (I guess he had some at VCU) and to a program that has been pretty uninspiring recently...maybe he's just a great salesman, or maybe there are additional incentives...

His recruitment became very strange during this summer as most of the major programs i.e. Kentucky, Duke, Kansas, UCLA, UNC and several others all kind of stopped recruiting him. From I've read, it felt like he had to beg Arizona to get involved because he wanted to play with his boy Jahvon Quinerly but even they seemed only lukewarm at best in terms of their pursuit of Reid which left the door open for LSU and Will Wade who after taking over in Baton Rouge never seemed to waver in his recruitment of Reid and ended with them being the last program standing. Very different recruitment feel for a top 20 prospect.
