Barker appears to be on the same page as Jack, although he avoids the controversial Harvey Thomas comparison.
Scholarship opportunity costs aside, if PE Jr. ends up as only a role player, will he be a positive or negative influence on chemistry and how will his experience affect his father's relationship with Georgetown?
This may end up as a great move, but it is high risk and not a no-brainer pr positive. I watched PE Jr. play in several games for Indiana last year and he struck me as a very raw player who would not be well-suited to the new Georgetown which values each possession. That said, his rebounding and physical presence could have been helpful to next year's team (for which he will not be eligible) in providing frontcourt bench depth. In two years, I would have hoped and expected that we would have recruited additional depth that would have made PE Jr. less valuable. I place much greater weight on what he did in two years at Indiana, than what people remember from meaningless high school all star games.
That said, I hope he uses the year lay-off year to learn the new system, to improve on his weaknesses and that he makes a major contribution that makes me feel foolish for harboring these doubts and concerns.

Seems like someone's been drinking the same water as hoyaron. Given that columns like Davis's aren't supposed to be factual, couldn't he have just invented an additional highly speculative supposition that would have reinforced his premise that by allowing PR Jr to transfer "Thompson will have made the first controversial move of his Georgetown career"? Seems like Davis is suffering from the off-seaons doldrums just like the rest of us.

WBH, fair point. If he was committing, my assumption is that he could fax in a LOI so SID could chirp away on this, although that would be a first. My problem is that the story could have been managed better perhaps if PE1 was not out in front, especially if a LOI is not on JT3's desk right now. Football LOIs at the I-A level are usually faxed in on signing day. Transfers often aren't commented on officially until a player entrolls in class.

JTIII never shows his hand until he has to, so the lack of a statement or confirmation is not surprising. Jon Wallace had played in the Kenner League and started school before his existence was officially acknowledged. Surely, Sapp has signed his LOI, but no official statement has confirmed it. JTIII has no problem letting everyone wonder what is up. At Princeton, he had a recruit who had never been mentioned anywhere until he showed up on the roster in the fall.
