Yes. It works both ways too. Florida State has taken 7 guards in the past 3 classes (14-16) so this is them staying in touch. Btw, Dennis Gates was the same year as Tavaras Hardy and played AAU ball with him. Also went to Paul White's high school Whitney Young. Good guy and great recruiter.

www.prephoopsillinois.com/news_article/show/561449?referrer_id=1201274After that he took a trip out east to see Georgetown who has recent Chicago prospects Paul White and LJ Peak on roster.
“It was great seeing the amazing history they have and their coaches are really down to earth.”
What is next for him with recruiting?
“I’m going to Florida State next week for an official visit.”
Norvell tells us this will be his last visit and he plans on making his decision between Gonzaga, Georgetown, Iowa State, and Florida State sometime in November inking a national letter of intent during the early signing period.Kids do love G'town's history..

Apparently he likes the word amazing. "That’s one of those words that we use, and we don’t care what it means. We go right for the top shelf with our words, now. We don’t think about how we talk. We just say, 'Dude, it was amazing. It was amazing.’ Really? You were 'amazed’? You were 'amazed’? By a basket of chicken wings? Really? 'Amazing?’ What are you going to do with the rest of your life now? What if something really happens to you? What if Jesus comes down from the sky. Makes love to you all night long. Leaves the new living lord in your belly? What are you going to call that? You used 'amazing’ on a basket of chicken wings." - Louis CK.

What is so good about the other programs? He talked about what he liked about the Cyclones coaching staff. “Great men on and off the court. They want tough minded guys who really want to win the Big 12.” _________ His first official visit was to Gonzaga. Norvell broke down what impresses him about their program. “The players and the amazing fan base. They also have the coaches and how much they win and strive for success.”

Long is a different type of guard than Norvell so who knows if this will make a difference to him or them..

Now that his official visits are over, Norvell's plan is to break things down with his family and make a decision.
"I need to sit down with my dad and talk things over because I want to commit in the next week or so," he explained.
Teams in the mix include Georgetown, Iowa State, Gonzaga and Florida State. He already knows what factors will weigh into his decision.
"The coaching staff, but also where I feel I can come in and play and develop as a player ... and a place where my family feels comfortable sending me for the next four years," he noted. "I'm pretty nervous about the decision because this is one of the biggest decisions of my life."
Norvell said he will likely do a press conference to announce his college choice, but it's something he, his father and coach have to discuss further.

No opinion at this point.. Many of the teams jumped in late so hard to gauge if anyone has seperated. ISU seems to be working really hard though..

I know I'm not YaBoy but I'll give my 2 cents. No thanks on Norvell, I'll pass. I would rather the staff use the scholarship on someone else like Kobie Eubanks, or hold the scholarship for 5th year free agent or 2017 guard like Blake Harris or Devontae Shuler. I'm not a fan of Zach Norvell's game. IMO, he is an overrated prospect. He is not a very good athlete. He lacks any quickness, north, south or laterally. He is a very overrated shooter and has awful measurables. I know my opinion might not be popular here, but I don't see Norvell being a consistent contributor for the Hoyas until possibly his junior year. To me Norvell is a Mid Major prospect who has High Major offers because the 2016 class isn't very deep in overall talent especially at the SG position. If I was him, I would go to Gonzaga where he will play at a High Major program that plays in a low to Mid Major Conference. There he would get to play 21 games a year against lesser overall talent and possibly a chance to crack their line up earlier then if he came to Georgetown or Florida St that has a ton of guards and has been recruiting at a higher level the last couple years. Iowa State could be a possibility because it's a new staff and their is no proof that they will continue to recruit or get transfers at the same level that Hoiberg did.

But I think the question is, as he appears to have an offer (meaning the staff thinks he can play here), will he commit to Georgetown? What are the chances? Without any inside info, it sounds wide open.
