It's a shame he won't be able to run with the team given his recent wrist injury. Still, important to get him on campus. Hoping for the best. We need one (or two!) of these kids to commit. I believe one of them will - sooner or later, but sometime this fall.

Would Coach Hardy be the lead on Zach with the Chicago connection?

Keep in mind Norvell plays for same Nike-sponsored AAU program as top 50-ish class of 2017 Hoya target Justin Smith. Additionally, Norvell's Simeon High School teammate is class of 2017 PG Evan Gilyard, whom Hoyas have reached out to and projects as a better version of Daquan Bracey.

Could you guys imagine a backcourt of Jagan Moseley, Seventh Woods, and Zach Norvell? That would be the perfect fit for JT3's system IMO. Ball handling through seventh, sharpshooting via Norvell, and good facilitation through Jagan.

So was he really on campus this weekend? If he was truly on campus and we were back in Chicago today to see him again then the staff must be pushing hard.

It's hard to get a feel for what Norvell's game will be in college. His upside screams to me a taller version of DSR, an immediate impact kid who ends up being a great shooter/scorer in his time in the Georgetown Blue & Gray. He is very shifty with a very good midrange game but not going to blow past many people off the bounce. His downside is a smaller version of Reggie Cameron showing glimpse of potential as a freshman that struggles to defend but ultimately doesn't have a true impact until hopefully his junior year. Oh, unless he has grown over the summer he is closer to LJ Peak's height of 6'4" ish barefoot and close to 6'5" in shoes.

That is the height that the NBA players are listed at. Michael Jordan's barefoot height is probably around 6-4 but nobody ever uses that height. They use his in shoes height of 6-6. I think alot of time people will use the barefoot height to diminish a player while comparing it to other players in shoes height. For comparison purposes you need to either stick to a comparison of in shoes heights or comparison of barefoot height to remain consistent.

I only commented on his height because it was brought up in an earlier post and depending on what recruiting website you visit, he is listed anywhere from 6'3" all the way up 6'7".

What is a little concerning though is the wingspan is listed at 6-2. Unless that's a typo those are Kevin Wills type T-rex arms. (For Comparison LJ Peak 6-3.5 barefoot/6-5 shoes has a 6-10 wingspan.)

But I think his downside is still higher than a smaller Cameron. While Norvell is not a great run/jump athlete, he is still much more athletic than Cameron (not really saying much I know...). And he has a much better handle, and can do more things on the court than Cameron. Then again, a folding chair can play better D than Cameron. Norvell may not have a high ceiling, but I think he has a high floor and would fit nicely in our offense.
