The 6-foot-4 Norvell is the No. 85 prospect in the country, according to Rivals, and he picked up recent scholarship offers from Wake Forest and Florida State. Norvell also told CSNChicago.com he has scholarship offers from Memphis, Oklahoma, Bradley, Loyola and Illinois. Expected to be a senior leader for Simeon this season, Norvell would like to check out the campuses at Illinois and Georgetown

Young guy like that talking about the importance of D and rebounding? Me like. He sounds like a real team guy too. I've never seen him play (other than those clips) but I love where his head is at or, at the least, he says all of the right things.

The kid reminds me a lot of DRussell. I also like the thought of getting kids that are from ChiTown. He also looks like he can play both guard positions which will give us a minimum of 3 PGs in 2016 if Bracey pops in Sept.

For someone with talent, decent ranking, and good size for his position, I'm surprised his list isn't that daunting at this point. Ok Coach Hardy, get to work!

4. Zach Norvell, 6-5, 2G, Simeon A big-bodied, battle-tested guard with some strength and toughness. Norvell, who is not an elite athlete, knows how to play and will be the focal point of next year’s Simeon team. As he’s grown to 6-5, Norvell’s value has increased as a result of his versatility. Love his makeup. This is a high character, tough kid. While not a pure shooter, he’s a perimeter shooting threat with terrific range who seems to get his own shot for someone who doesn’t look like he’s blowing past people. highschoolcubenews.com/2015/06/16/henricksen-look-top-10-class-2016/

From Rivals: "Schools that Norvell said were coming after him the hardest in spring include Illinois, DePaul, Purdue, South Carolina, Georgetown, Wake Forest, Oklahoma, and Xavier. He has no visit plans yet, but hopes to get out and see some schools before the end of the summer." rivalshoops.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1781350

Charlie Moore's an interesting PG that just continues putting up numbers for Mac Irvin. Undersized and shoot first, but kid can play...wonder if Hardy is all over him as well (even though he hasn't really listed Georgetown). 20 points, 5 assists, 5 steals in the first game at Peach Jam.

Only seen him play once, numbers look good, Chicago guys think he can play but I seriously doubt it...The game I watched he played like a 5'9 SG, but I hear he's embraced being more of a playmaker. IMO Norvell was the best overall player, an underrated aspect of his game is his playmaking ability and defense. Kid definitely straps up but he's not really athletic, one has to question his upside... TBH HB both kids are just ok in my book, Wouldn't be enthused or disappointed in either one based on what I've seen in the past, but obviously things can change, guys get better etc...

On the recruiting front, Norvell says there isn't much new to report, but he expects things to pick up in July.
"I'm just taking it all in right now and focusing on trying to win the Peach Jam," Norvell said. "It's my last go around with team. I'm going to look at (recruiting) when I get back home and see how my recruiting picks up, if it's still the same, or there are any new schools."
Schools that Norvell said were coming after him the hardest in spring include Illinois, DePaul, Purdue, South Carolina, Georgetown, Wake Forest, Oklahoma, and Xavier. He has no visit plans yet, but hopes to get out and see some schools before the end of the summer.

YaBoy sorry for the delay in response, has been a busy few days. I totally agree with your assessment. Neither guy is a world beater, but I do think they could be effective role players on a good team. The class of 2016 in Illinois is pathetic, as evidenced by the fact that 2 of the top 4 or 5 kids is headed to Northwestern. Novell is solid, not spectacular, a jack of all trades, master of none type - but he knows how to play and is a very good defender. Reminds me a bit of a less explosive Jabril. Moore has some upside as a scorer, and I think he'd be an interesting fit in JT3's offense, but I think he's likely headed to a middle of the road Big Ten program (Iowa, Illinois, Purdue, etc.). At Peach Jam, where Mac Irvin Fire went 1-4, stat lines were as follows: Norvell: 11.6 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 1.2 apg, 1.2 spg, 40.6% fg, 40.0% 3fg, Moore: 17.2 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 5.0 apg, 2.4 spg, 40.3% fg, 16.7% 3fg

www.madehoops.com/news_article/show/534709?referrer_id=1934076Norvell Taking the Recruitment Process Slow Class of 2016 wing Zach Norvell has a lot of schools that are actively recruiting him so he is taking it all in slowly. “I’m just taking it all in right now and my family and I are going to sit down once July ends to talk about everything thing that is on the table for me,” he said. “I want to see what schools have to offer by taking my time with it all.” Illinois, Bradley, Loyola, Memphis, Oklahoma, DePaul, Florida State, Wake Forest, Purdue and more have offered him. He has received interest from Georgetown, Kansas, Oregon, Gonzaga, Arkansas and Colorado. He has an official planned to Illinois, but isn’t sure when he will visit. Norvell got back from Peach Jam recently and enjoyed the whole experience. “I went last year with my 16U team so it was great getting back to Peach Jam,” he told MADE Hoops. “We went out and competed and that is important. We didn’t come out on top, but we still had a great run at it. It was a fun season and it was great playing in a competitive league like the EYBL.” He has taken a lot away from the first couple of days at camp. “This is one of the few camps where the NBA player in attendance is very hands on,” said Norvell. “Victor is very active with us and he is just a very good guy. The talent overall has been great here.”

Well he's in town so maybe a visit after camp... Hard to read this one, but I do know Illinois seems stacked at the G position already.
