From his perspective or their's Deacon? Both. He wanted Maryland but they backed off.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. There is a long way to go in this one. We have his ear and he is definitely interested, but this one may take a while.

I hear what you're saying Blue but I'd be leery if he's not choosing until next spring.. Deacon's response to me above makes me think that Maryland is all in for Fultz right now so they stopped chasing CJ to show Fultz how much they want him.. However if they don't get him & CJ is still available you'd have to figure they'd jump back in hard so imo(admittedly paranoid) the staff needs to capitalize on this opening by the early signing period..

6’4” 2016 Curtis Jones (Boo Williams/Huntington Prep) Jones has been a rising name around the country since he broke out 2013 NC Phenom 150 Camp. He is a consensus Top 100 player with recruitment across the Eastern US. Jones has a long frame, and is wired to score. He really excels in transition and is great in catch and shoot situations, from the mid-range to beyond the arc. He is currently averaging 16 points per game on the EYBL. www.phenomhoopreport.com/news_article/show/525472?referrer_id=1555437

From Rivals' Eric Bossi: Because some point guards pulled out late, 2016's No. 55 player Curtis Jones is going to have to handle the ball and initiate offense more than he will be asked to on the next level. Though he can do that when needed, the skinny shooting guard's forte is shooting the ball from deep and putting points on the board. He had his jumper working to the tune of 16 points and added in a pair of assists during a very solid effort. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1776012

Curtis Jones got hot from three and was terrific on the wing. The 6-foot-3 guard hit three triples, more than anyone did on the courts I watched Wednesday night.

6’4 ’16 Curt Jones of Huntington Prep and BWSL travel team had an unforgettable opening game at the NBPA Top 100 which is somewhat typical of many players in attendance. That being said, Jones answered the bell in the final game Wednesday night.. He finished with a game high 17 points going 6-12 from the floor including 3-6 from the three point line. The wiry and slender combo guard was able to score from all levels on the court, but it was his three point shooting that impressed the majority in attendance. Jones has a tendency to be more efficient in his long range shooting once his feet are firmly set in a “catch and shoot” situation. Off the bounce, Jones prefers to be more attack minded to create scoring opportunities at the rim or kick out to open teammate www.phenomhoopreport.com/news_article/show/526682?referrer_id=1593034

Curtis Jones – 2016 – G – Richmond, Virginia A do it all fill the box score talent, Jones erupted late in the second game and almost willed his team to a double digit come from behind victory before losing in the final seconds. Jones ripped the nets from downtown, scored off the bounce, was active defensively, and he made some solid passes for easy baskets during his second half burst on Wednesday night. - See more at: ny2lasports.com/article_one.aspx?articleid=2980#sthash.Xa81lvJx.LRfAUzMy.dpuf

I hope staff is "all in" on this kid. Him, trey, and foster over the next 3 years instantly resolves any concerns in the backcourt if you ask me.
