These guards are coming off the board pretty quick I hope the staff sees all this movement. When will the team return to the states?

DeAndre Hunter Recruiting Update I know we are apparently out of the running for Hunter but he seems to be wide open still because all the schools recruiting him are slow playing him except Oklahoma State. "Oklahoma State has been on Hunter’s recruitment the longest, offering him last August, and he said while many of the schools were pushing for October dates, OK State wanted to bring him on campus a little earlier."
Hunter has confirmed that he has set up 3 visits and not sure what to do with last 2 visits. "Oklahoma State (Sept. 18) and Notre Dame (Oct. 11), along with a visit to Miami (Fl.) on Oct. 2 “or sometime around that period.”In recruiting you push for your top recruits to get on campus as soon as possible (September) and your back up recruits usually you try to get on campus in October except for Midnight Madness of course. Hunter seems to be a 2nd or 3rd option of most of the schools recruiting him which is a shame because the kid can play! I wonder if the staff was to make a late play on Hunter and tried to get him on campus ASAP would he be receptive. From the article, Hunter sounds like he is just looking for a place that he is wanted and doesn't seem to feel like he is a priority to anyone outside of Oklahoma St. From the article he comes across as he is waiting to here from schools and has no idea outside of Oklahoma st. and maybe Miami and Notre Dame (if they don't get commitments before his visit) where his recruiting is going.

This might take Maryland out of the running for Hunter but I'd bet that ND turns up the heat..
I doubt G'town will get back involved though

H4E, what's going on with the Hunter recrutiment? Why is he a 2nd or 3rd option? Strange...

H4E, what's going on with the Hunter recrutiment? Why is he a 2nd or 3rd option? Strange... Your guess is as good as mine! From a skillet standpoint it doesn't make much sense. I've asked around and from what I can summarize is that for schools like Virginia, Notre Dame, Alabama and Maryland that offered him in late July or early August and are slow playing him now, is because they are in with what they consider high level prospects at the same position, or they have been recruiting the other kids longer and have built a stronger relationship with them. They are pushing Hunter's visit back to October or not locking down a definite date because they want to get their top choices a chance to officially visit first and find out where they stand with them before they move onto other prospects like Hunter. I think it's some kind of combination of all of these. As you know, I love this kids game and think he is just coming into his own after breaking his leg and missing his sophomore season and summer. He's got tremendous upside. Reminds me a lot of Greg Whittington who was also a 3 Star prospect in high school with a ton of upside. I wish we would try to get back involved with DeAndre Hunter. This kid sounds like he is waiting for a school to make a priority. From everything I read, it seems as though the kid just wants to be wanted!

Wow Virginia has swooped in and is making him a priority! I gotta believe they are the leaders in the club house for his services. Is this an official visit? Gotta like what the staff over at Virginia are doing. I still have hope that the staff will or has at least tried to get back in the mix with Hunter. Final list mean nothing! We weren't even in the mix with Mosely until a few weeks before he committed. Xavier Simpson committed to Michigan yesterday and Michigan wasn't on his final 5 list or even in the mix until the last minute.

Because they are bringing in talented kids like Kyle Guy and Mamadi Diakite. They have dominated a tough conference the last 2 season by going 31-5 in the ACC regular season the last 2 years. Because they are doing all this without recruiting a bunch of Hamburger All Americans! Because they have a more then solid chance of getting Hunter who everybody on this board knows I love his game, upside and will be a fan of no matter where he goes (outside the BE of course). Also, their are some solid similarities to our Hoyas and UVA's MBB program. Both teams run structured systems and we recruit a lot of similar players. Neither program really goes hard after the 1 & Done players, not that either school wouldn't take them if they wanted to come. Both schools are also strong academic though Georgetown is a much a better school. Me giving Virginia some credit is not a dis on my beloved Hoyas in anyway what so ever! It's me a passionate college basketball fan giving UVA credit for their success on the court and in recruiting. To my knowledge they don't run a dirty program and have a smug as****** coach like the prisoners from upstate NY or Kentucky with Calipari. We really don't have that crazy or a fiery rivalry in basketball because we rarely play them, and they are not as close to us geographically like twerps. I wish we did play them in MBB regular season instead of a behind closed doors scrimmage. Maybe we will in the future! You specifically don't have to like what UVA is doing but as a fan of college basketball I respect and like what they are doing and it doesn't in anyway alter my love for the Hoyas!

I doubt we were in his top 3. He hasn't mention the Hoyas since the beginning of August. I knew he was going to commit to UVA. Everything out of the kids mouth was he just wanted to be wanted and UVA stepped up. Virginia got a stud that I wish we went harder after. Between Hunter and Mamadi Diakite, Virginia has 2 kids with ridiculous upside. Good luck to the kid!

Picked a good school and a respectable program that does things the right way...except for their style of play on the court . He didn't go to Maryland so I can't hate him. Good luck to the guy.

insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncbrecruiting/on-the-trail/insider/post?id=140125 kids who are on the cusp of ESPN's top 100 for 2016.. PG- Anthony Cowan, PG- Devearl Ramsey, SF- Sam Cunliffe & C- Rodney Miller are the other kids.. DeAndre Hunter, SF, 6-6, 180, Friends Central/Philadelphia (undeclared)
Hunter is a long forward who owns top talent along with some natural skill and athleticism. He can finalize a play off the bounce or can spot up for the jumper -- he's terrific in the middle of the floor scoring from the high post, as he can get all the way to the rim or take and make the pull-up jumper. Hunter already owns pure scoring skills, the next phase of his growth is becoming more aggressive and learning how to play through contact. Once that happens, he will be a difficult matchup for opponents. Jeff Goodman @goodmanespn Arizona State freshman Sam Cunliffe will transfer, sources told ESPN. Averaging 9.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.

I saw ASU play at San Diego St. this past weekend. Cunliffe was basically invisible, I don't even remember the guy being on the court, although box score says he played 28 minutes, with 3 points and 6 boards. Maybe he already had one foot out the door, but he made no impression on me.

How "visible" has Copeland been since the second game in Maui?
