I saw a blurb by E. Bossi today mentioning G'town as a school showing interest in Hunter.. He's a 6-7 180lb kid who is touted to have a well rounded skill set.. Honestly he sounds a lot like Kaleb which isn't a bad thing imho.. espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/186502/deandre-hunterStrengths:Hunter is long and naturally skilled. He owns a soft shooting touch and is often able to score over top of defenders in the mid-range area. He handles the ball well for his size, can shake his defender to get to his pull-up, and also has the footwork to create off the catch. He's very long, covers the court with long fluid strides, and can make some instinctive plays and finishes around the rim.Weaknesses:Hunter is still young in many respects, especially after missing his sophomore season with injury. He isn't always as assertive as he should be and can also be a little hesitant to play through contact. His foot speed isn't ideal and so he rarely blows by anyone off the dribble and might be better defending fours than threes at the next level, although he'll need more muscle mass for that.Bottom Line:He's loaded with sheer talent and is very much still a work in progress and he continues to discover his natural tools, learns to incorporate them into his floor game, and develop the type of attacking game that his talent level dictates.

From Rivals: Hunter becoming hunted Playing for the Philly Pride, DeAndre Hunter, Rivals.com's No. 132 player in the class of 2016, impressed by logging 20 points, four rebounds and three assists in a win over the New York Jayhawks. A 6-foot-7 forward from Wynewood (Pa.) Friends Central, Hunter has become a hot target. Hunter could be listed as either a small forward or a power forward based on his ability to play inside or out, but it is his toughness that stands out. Hunter played all out on both ends of the floor Friday night, was vocal and looked more than willing to set screens, take charges, dive for loose balls and do all of the little things that help win ballgames. "I feel like I'm playing well," Hunter said. "I'm helping my team win and that's what I care about. I'll do anything for my team." College programs have certainly noticed his willingness to scrap. They also like that he can hit jumpers, drive either right or left and that he has a basketball body that will easily carry muscle once he hits a college weight room. Hunter has offers from Oklahoma State, N.C. State, Penn State, Miami, La Salle, Temple, Rhode Island and Hofstra to go along with interest from Georgetown, Louisville and Xavier. Hunter says that most programs tell him he's simply a guy that they want to get on the floor and don't really target him as a small or power forward. That's just fine with him. "I don't think I have a defined position," he said. "I just go out there and do what I do and try to make plays. I can score, I rebound and I'll play anywhere on the floor." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1768681

insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncbrecruiting/on-the-trail/insider/post?id=140125 kids who are on the cusp of ESPN's top 100 for 2016.. PG- Anthony Cowan, PG- Devearl Ramsey, SF- Sam Cunliffe & C- Rodney Miller are the other kids.. DeAndre Hunter, SF, 6-6, 180, Friends Central/Philadelphia (undeclared)
Hunter is a long forward who owns top talent along with some natural skill and athleticism. He can finalize a play off the bounce or can spot up for the jumper -- he's terrific in the middle of the floor scoring from the high post, as he can get all the way to the rim or take and make the pull-up jumper. Hunter already owns pure scoring skills, the next phase of his growth is becoming more aggressive and learning how to play through contact. Once that happens, he will be a difficult matchup for opponents.

www.hudl.com/athlete/4894279/highlights/244397387/v2This kid is a matchup nightmare. Scores on all 3 levels, smooth handle, athleticism to finish at the rim over top. I wouldn't be afraid to recruit this kid as a SG and put him in a Greg Whittington type of role to be honest. Lot's of upside here and kid has a lot of dog in him, can defend multiple positions and wants to.

”I think I do everything well, I don’t do anything particularly great, I just try my best to win games and try to do it all,” Hunter said. “Skill wise, I’m working on my dribbling, working on getting my explosiveness together and getting faster.” H unter intends to primarily play wing forward in college, and he said three programs are pushing hardest.
”The hardest I would probably say Miami and St. Joe’s, and Georgetown,” Hunter said, adding that the Hurricanes and Hawks have offered while the Hoyas have not www.scout.com/college/basketball/recruiting/story/1557789-nbpa-top-100-deandre-hunter

delgrecowilson.com/2015/06/08/great-philly-summer-hoops-team-final-vs-philly-pride/Philly Pride was without standout point guard Stevie Jordan (Richmond, Towson, Rider and Quinnipiac offers). As a result, 6’7” DeAndre Hunter spent much of the game initiating the offense. Exhibiting very solid ball handling and play making skills, Hunter and Jaekwon Carlyle made very good decisions in transition and got Philly Pride into their sets in the half court. Hunter is a multifaceted wing with a high basketball IQ. His potential is unlimited and as a result he is being pursued by several HIGH major programs. ___________ Scouting Report Strengths: Incredibly versatile wing can play face-up or with his back to the basket. Has an easy stroke from the 3-point range, and is comfortable knocking down mid-range jumpers as well. Knows when to take advantage of a mismatch and will post up smaller opponents, utilizing a number of post moves to get his shot off, including a well-developed step-back. Lots of length, helps him be a good defender who can defend almost all five positions; is a good weak-side shot-blocker and can run the fast break as well. Weaknesses: Still needs to get a lot stronger; year he spent sidelined due to injury set him back in that regard and he’s not as physically developed as many of his classmates. Does a lot of things rather well, but needs to continue to develop his skill set--tighten his handle, get a quicker release. Overall: Though he missed his entire sophomore season with a broken leg, Hunter has recovered and is back on track as a high-major wing thanks to his frame and his skill set. As he gets stronger and refines his game, the sky’s the limit. www.cityofbasketballlove.com/deandrehunter__________________ Hunter impresses. DeAndre Hunter used to think about the leg injury that sidelined him for his entire sophomore season. The Friends' Central junior said he does not think like that anymore. "You have to forget about it," Hunter said after scoring 12 points in the junior game. "If you keep thinking about it, it's going to make you play worse. I had to get it out of my head." The 6-6 forward impressed on Saturday by displaying his all-around game. Hunter can handle the ball like a guard and defend like a forward. He drives the lane with speed, has a nice outside shot, and can play with both hands. "I worked hard trying to get back to what I could do," Hunter said. "I did a lot of lifting on my legs to get my explosiveness back." articles.philly.com/2014-09-29/sports/54404564_1_penn-state-haverford-school-north-carolina-state_____________________

I would not be mad at the staff if they decided to push hard for him right now..

“Schools that have been in touch the most are Miami, Georgetown, St. Joe’s, and N.C. State,” noted Hunter. “I just want to go to a school I like. Play in a system I like. A coach I can get along with. I think that will help me get better, a school that will make me better.” When asked specifically about the Hoyas, Hunter said “Georgetown. I saw them play a couple times on TV. I really like how they play. I met the coaching staff a couple times.” As for what he is looking for in a school, Hunter quickly replied “Up-tempo. I like to run on the breaks. Pick and roll. I like to pick and pop. I can do both. zagsblog.com/articles/2016-small-forward-deandre-hunter-fielding-offers/
