Rumor in the recruiting board is that they are a packs deal to Notre Dame.

zagsblog.com/articles/kansas-state-transfer-jevon-thomas-to-seton-hall/Seton Hall lost one experienced guard recently but has gained another. Talented Kansas State transfer Jevon Thomas, who recently visited campus, has committed to the Pirates, sources told SNY.tv. He joins the program just as news broke last week that Sterling Gibbs will graduate and transfer to play immediately. Seton Hall has already added power forward Myles Carter and wing Veer Singh, along with 6-9 Fresno State transfer Braeden Anderson, to its 2015 class.

Another solid pickup by the Johnnies. I wish Gtown would leverage our international name and get more recruits abroad:

Another solid pickup by the Johnnies. I wish Gtown would leverage our international name and get more recruits abroad: Great topic. Why doesn't Georgetown been able to get significant contributions from overseas players not named Dikembe Mutombo? The African players all come with "potential" but outside the aforementioned Mutombo and Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje, most became role players. GU has signed only three Eastern European players ever (Bosanac, Dizderavic, Mesheriakov), and has yet to sign a South American player. Not surprising, nothing from the PRC either. Maybe it's too much to expect the next Tiago Splitter to take the floor for the Hoyas, but we don't seem to have an international focus among the current assistants.

Maybe that's where we get our future, first JT3-era NBA guard since the Euros probably haven't heard all the negatives about the Georgetown offense!

Totally agree. We ABSOLUTELY need to be having at least one assistant focus a good amount of time recruiting internationally. Georgetown has a great brand there AND the game has become more and more global. Even looking at Eastern Washington or Utah, both had MAJOR players who came from Europe and Australia. Those guys aren't as likely to be in the one-and-done mindset and seem to value getting a full education more. It made zero sense short-term for Utah's center to come back, but he seemed to value the growth and experience with another year in college. Also, given our style of play that values players who are more skilled, European and Australian players are better fits than many Americans. blueandgray - any thoughts as to why the staff doesn't recruit more internationally? Is it starting to be more on their radar?

Think we need to re-establish the Africa connection and I wouldn't be surprised to see us set up a basketball camp there in the not too distant future.

Do those clamoring for international players not recall those for the past and some of the stretches? We hit big with Dikembe but it is hardly a guaranteed approach. Payoff may not even be a high as workng domestically.

RESEASON ALL-CONFERENCE PREDICTIONS Kris Dunn, Providence (Player of the Year) D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera, Georgetown Kellen Dunham, Butler Josh Hart, Villanova Henry Ellenson, Marquette PRESEASON POWER RANKINGS, IN TWEET FORM 1. Villanova: On paper, Nova looks like a top ten team, but it will be interesting to see how their roster comes together. A lot of PGs, not many big men. 2. Georgetown: Getting DSR back was huge, but the key for the Hoyas this year will be the development of sophomores Isaac Copeland, LJ Peak and Paul White. 3. Xavier: I’m bullish on the Musketeers despite who they lost, but that’s mostly because I expect Trevon Bluiett and Jalen Reynolds to have big years. 4. Marquette: As I said earlier, the addition of Ellenson combined with the back court pieces Wojo has makes Marquette my favorite sleeper in the country. 5. Butler: Kellen Dunham, Roosevelt Jones and Tyler Lewis will be fun to watch, but who helps Andrew Charbacz along the front line? 6. Providence: Getting Kris Dunn back was huge. Losing LeDontae Henton will hurt, however. Ben Bentil and Jalen Lindsey need to take big steps forward. 7. Seton Hall: Losing Gibbs is killer, but with Isaiah Whitehead and Angel Delgado back and a couple talented transfers eligible, Pirates have some pieces. 8. St. John’s: It’s hard to see the Johnnies remaining a tournament team after losing D’angelo Harrison and Sir’Dominic Pointer. 9. DePaul: I love Billy Garrett Jr.’s game. I don’t love rehiring Dave Leitao. 10. Creighton: The rebuild after Dougie McBuckets was never going to be quick. Landing Justin Patton and Marcus Foster makes the future seem bright. collegebasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/05/18/looking-forward-catching-up-on-the-big-easts-offseason/

Some preseason thoughts:
1. Villanova (16-2): A lot of strength coming back, won't miss JVP. 2. Butler (12-6): An underrated team who was 30 seconds removed from the #2 seed last year. 3. Georgetown (11-7): Lots of talent but the post play is a point of concern. 4. Marquette (10-8): Poised to make a big move up. Ellenson has all the skills to be Rookie of the Year. 5. Xavier (10-8): Not enough pieces to win it all but a tough out every night. 6. St. John's (10-8): A huge underperformer for years, the Redmen may surprise. 7. Providence (9-9): Dunn can't do it all...can he? 8. DePaul (7-11): Another team that will see a bump under a new coach. 9. Creighton (5-13): Steady progress but a year away from a move upward. 10. Seton Hall (4-14): Not the worst team in the league by any means, but this feels like Georgetown before the 2003-04 season. The storm clouds around Willard and Isaiah Whitehead's combustible presence are red flags.

The storm clouds around Willard and Isaiah Whitehead's combustible presence are red flags. You may be right about JVP, but I'm guessing Nova misses Hilliard more than most expect. I like Georgetown as the top team with Nova either 2nd or 3rd behind them. I think the post play for GU goes from a point of concern to a surprising strength. I don't think Marquette makes that big an improvement... not in a conference that I expect to have a lot of parity. I'm excited for the conference next year. I believe the top will be strong as usual while the bottom of the conference will be tougher than it was this past year.

I agree here. I think 13-5 is the floor for this team in conference. Anything less than that would be a disappointment. It should be us and Nova battling down to the last weekend for the 1 seed. This team will surprise people. Don't worry, we may not be on the national stage now, but halfway through the season the nation will know about this Hoya team!
