I expected a hung jury as this dragged on. What a sad waste of 2 lives.

From tight end to wide receiver in just a few months...

From tight end to wide receiver in just a few months... He's big enough, and in for murder. He probably has less to worry about than most. I guess. It's just so tragic. One person's dead, and another in jail for the rest of his life...

Hernandez looked genuinely shocked by the jury verdict; I really believe that he thought he would get away with murder, like O.J. Simpson did, because of his status as a highly-paid athlete with a popular local team.
The trial judge severely restricted the prosecution's proposed evidence, ruling in favor of Hernandez more often than not on objections to admissibility. It is extremely unlikely that any appeal based on a perceived error by the judge will be successful.
Hernandez is still facing a second trial, having been charged with two 2012 murders in Boston. More than two lives have apparently been wasted here.
