Reggie's senior year may have been the best season ever by a Hoya:
23.6 points per game, 8.7 rebounds per game, 2.7 assists per game and 2.1 steals per game, all while shooting 48.2% from the field, 38.6% from behind the arc and 80.4% from the line.

A kid who lived up to the hype of being the top recruit in his class. There was so much pressure on him and he delivered.

The article makes the point that Reggie may have ranked higher on the all-time scoring list with the benefit of the 3-pointer for all 4 years, and indeed he probably surpasses Patrick for no. 2, but isn't that even more the case for Sleepy, who had 0 3pt attempts and still ranks no. 1 in scoring, yet put up nearly 1600 3pt attempts (albeit only making 32%) in his NBA career.

The article was quoting DFW (or possibly HoyaChris?) at Hoyabasketball.com when they talk about his scoring averages, and as you'd expect he estimated that Reggie would have been second all time if he'd had the 3 point line. www.hoyabasketball.com/features/top100/r_williams.htm

GREAT college player. Its unfortunate that he got drafted by the worst owner/franchise in all professional sports, and then that same owner tagged him with that damning and inaccurate Jordan comparison. Reggie probably the most versatile Hoya I ever saw play. He may have been simply too unselfish to succeed in the NBA. Imagine him getting drafted by the "right" coach -- Popovich or Phil Jackson, or Red Holzman or Auerbach. He'd be in the Hall of Fame.

In terms of NBA stardom, I felt that Reggie was very good at everything...highly highly skilled. But he was not truly great at anything in particular (at the NBA level) and not an elite athlete, by NBA standards. So, I expected him to be a good, all around starter, with a career similar to say Sleepy, who made one All-Star team. I felt his career was somewhat disappointing, but not sure its fair to say he would have been an NBA Hall of Famer if he played on a different team. ..

I've always said this and still stand by it: if we're talking just about the glory years, the most important player John recruited was Patrick Ewing. The best player he recruited was Reggie Williams.
If you believe otherwise, take a look at the roster during his senior season and then tell me how that team wins the Big East tournament and gets within one game of the Final Four.

Dwayne Bryant, Perry McDonald, Charles Smith. Not bad. If they had anything that resembled a post player they go to the Final 4. away that But Yes, Reggie Williams was one of GTowns best!!!!

Reggie is no worse than Top 5, along with Patrick, Sleepy, Zo, and AI.
I thought this thread was going to be about Reggie Cameron. Hahahaha.

Most people managed to get my point. When you get older and more mature you'll be able to figure it out without continuing to insult me.

Most people managed to get my point. When you get older and more mature you'll be able to figure it out without continuing to insult me. So your point was that you are really old. Got it.
