Lead story on guhoyas.com is about registration for III's summer camp - color me concerned. I agree that there is a lot of due diligence to do and there may be trust issues to work through, but sure would appreciate some first party indication. been on the side of "stay in school" for a long time, not just with DSR but with others who have had a more certain path to a paycheck as well. For his sake and for selfish fanatic reasons as well I hope that DSR has re-valued the degree equation, decided to re-commit to the University and his teammates and that he takes this team all the way next year. Jeez, it's like none of you people pay attention to how GU operates. Based on the SID's track record, We may not get confirmation from the school until Midinght Madness.

This is confusing. However, let me just speculate as to what happened without any inside information. I think that it is significant that the earliest notice came from his mom. My guess is that his family put tremendous pressure on him to to change his mind. As soon as he did, she tweeted, then he tweeted. This was probably a family affair which explains why JT3 and his staff didn't know.

You are correct. I understand that DSR reads your posts carefully and was influenced to return by this post from you
My guess would be to support the student-athletes who put in countless of hours of work so that we can watch them perform?

Was that supposed to be a joke or a jab or something? Don't see how it relates....

From what I heard, DSR got word back that he was not going to get drafted in the 2 Rds of the NBA draft and thus decided to come back instead going to Europe or China.
All in all it was a good decision on his part not to sign with an agent.
Even if DSR has a professional career like Jerrelle Benimon, how bad can that be?

With DSR coming back, do you feel this upcoming season will be better than this past season?

Geez, this frickin Socratic Method in every frickin thread is driving me frickin nuts. And I have the guy on ignore. How do you people stand it? I recommend reading each post as a sort of Turing test. Consider, if you had a reasonably intelligent bot reading each thread and programmed to randomly respond every so often using keywords of that thread, could it replicate said poster's history? This could be an elaborate GU CS Department experiment (possibly funded by the mods' hefty stipend I keep hearing about).

Huge news. It made no sense to begin with, so glad he reversed course. Has something potentially special next year.

Take it FWIW, but Casual posted that JTIII contacted all 30 NBA teams for feedback on DSR. Every single one. I would imagine there has been plenty of communication.

Does that mean that someday soon we will not have to create our own posts- the bots will do it for us? That would free up a TON of time. At least until the bots got to lic, and self-destructed.

People seriously overestimate the earning potential overseas. As an "rookie" he could make anywhere from $60k-$100k. Not chump change by any means but not the $400-500k of yesteryear. When you consider that the cost of one year at Georgetown is probably close to $50,000 (and he'd get a degree on top of it), I am not sure the cost/benefit analysis is actually that strongly in favor of leaving for Europe - especially when you consider he would live most of his adult life not playing basketball and without a college degree (unless he went back to school after he came back). Edit: Assuming they get tuition and room and board free (do they?) that's a $62,622 value right there. On behalf of those of us who are cutting tuition checks for Hoya offspring: don't rub it in.
