Other than the fact that he is Chris Mullin, what would be the purpose of that hire? Does he have any coaching experience? No, but he does have some GM experience with the Warriors, and has worked in the Sacramento Kings front office as well. If nothing else, he would definitely be a big name and high publicity hire. Brian Wardle to Bradley.
Chicago Sun Times reporting that Bobby Hurley and Bryce Drew are planning to interview this weekend. Looks like search may be zeroing in on those two.

Jesus. Yes DePaul, THAT is how you mess up a hire. Now that you know that, do better.

*facepalm*
If you are trying to convince Hurley and Drew to take you seriously, maybe don't interview Leitao.

Yes, but as noted above Depaul also supposedly set to interview Hurley and Drew this weekend. Chicago Tribune reported Hurley was scheduled to interview yesterday and Drew scheduled to interview today. Tribune sources (take that for what its worth) report that both "badly" want the job and Depaul willing to pay the $2M per season salary Purnell was receiving. Still not sure Depaul has an actual plan here but hopefully they don't screw this up like they have with every hire since Leitao left for UVa.

Dave Leitao did a very good job at DePaul. He hasn't had a head coaching gig, though, since leaving UVa. Following Frank Haith from job to job doesn't impress me a whole lot.
I get the sense DePaul is bringing in a bunch of people, and has no real plan about how to proceed. Now that higher profile jobs are beginning to open up (i.e., Tennessee, Texas, St. John's, Arizona State), there is a real chance that DePaul could screw this up by not acting promptly and lose out on desired hirings.
Maybe Steve Lavin winds up here?

If they didn't end up with Hurley or Drew that's just ridiculous. Hell, even give Barnes a call. Say what you will about his coaching ability, but he'd be able to get DePaul relevant again.

Multiple reports it will be Leiato. Wow. DePaul needs to be kicked out. That's just beyond awful.

DePaul: This seems really, really shortsighted. Leitao's success at DePaul was in C-USA: a combined 30-18 conference record.
The only thing crazier would be Mike Jarvis' name resurfacing at St. John's.

The league should issue a quick ultimatum to Depaul -- fire their joke of an AD or leave the league. Jeez, what a joke.

The conference should swap out DePaul for Dayton at this point. The Flyers have a good young coach and average 12k for home attendance. DePaul refuses to be relevant.

On the plus side, there will be a low bar of expectations to exceed...
(That's the best I can come up with)
