Amos could have qualified for the mile, but he gave up his spot to Ahmed, and he is anchoring the DMR. Additionally, Katrina also qualified for the mile, but the 3000m and DMR is enough for her.

I don't think the men have scored at the national meet in a few years. This presents their best chance to finish in the top 8 in a couple of events. Both men and women's DMR qualified with the best times. But there are tough teams to contend with. Oregon, Penn State, and Nova on the men's side and Arkansas and Stanford on the women's side. But both teams should score points in these events.

Perfect -we can watch DMR win right before we watch DSR win (see what I did there?).

By running his 3rd sub-4 minute mile, Ahmed Bile qualified for the mile finals on time. You had to run a 4:00.00 time or better to qualify for the finals. Must be a record for fastest prelims on NCAA indoor record. Third fastest qualifier is the son of Hoya great John Gregorek. The son graduated from Columbia last year and is enjoying his red-shirt year with Oregon.

Unfortunately, our women 800m runners did not qualify for the finals. They were in the slow heat and did not get a chance to advance with their times. They had to be in the top three and they were 4 and 5.

Ryan Manahan made it to the finals of the 800m, and if he does not get DQ'ed or get a DNF, he will pick up points for the men, which has been a rare occurrence lately.
1 Edward Kemboi SR Iowa State 1:48.04 Q 2 (1) 2 Dylan Capwell SO Monmouth 1:48.23 Q 2 (2) 3 Clayton Murphy SO Akron 1:48.30 (1:48.297) Q 1 (1) 3 Alex Amankwah JR Alabama 1:48.30 (1:48.297) Q 2 (3) 5 Brandon McBride JR Miss State 1:48.48 Q 1 (2) 6 Tre'tez Kinnaird SO Indiana 1:48.57 Q 1 (3) 7 Ryan Schnulle JR Florida 1:48.79 q 1 (4) 8 Ryan Manahan SO Georgetown 1:48.91 q 2 (4) 9 Edose Ibadin SR Hampton 1:48.98 1 (5) 10 Shaquille Walker SO BYU 1:48.99 1 (6) 11 Andres Arroyo SO Florida 1:49.18 1 (7) 12 Joe McAsey JR Illinois 1:49.97 2 (5) 13 Joseph White FR Georgetown 1:50.44 2 (6) 14 Paul Duffey SO Northeastern 1:50.83 2 (7) 15 Jacopo Lahbi SO Alabama 1:51.91 2 (8) Jesse Garn SR Binghamton FS 1
Joe White accomplished something no other runner in the 800m did; he made the semis as a freshman.

The women's DMR team didn't do so well as I expected (in the top 3):
1 Arkansas Arkansas 10:51.89 1 (1) 2 Stanford Stanford 10:53.66 1 (2) 3 Michigan Michigan 10:58.64 1 (3) 4 Baylor Baylor 11:04.21 1 (4) 5 Washington Washington 11:08.50 1 (5) 6 North Carolina St. North Carolina St. 11:10.41 1 (6) 7 Georgetown Georgetown 11:11.50 1 (7) 8 Notre Dame Notre Dame 11:15.96 1 (8) 9 Michigan State Michigan State 11:17.26 1 (9) 10 New Mexico New Mexico 11:17.98 1 (10) 11 Florida State Florida State 11:31.24 1 (11) Villanova Villanova DQ 1
14 seconds slower than their seed time. Arkansas and Stanford ran great races.

Seems like the women peaked too earl yin their training-all seemed worn out. Men ran very strong race. With a little more experience on anchor they could have gotten second--both teams should be back strong again next yr

strange lineup for the women , the they must have felt that they could not win the dmr, and wanted to conserve the athletes for individual races
