Heard from fairly reliable source at UT (my brother) that Shaka is going to Texas. About to announce. If true, Kenny Williams (Top 100 SG 15') may reopen his recruitment!

Shaka and Texas are not a done deal yet. According to the below report, he's in his office at VCU today. wtvr.com/2015/04/01/amid-rumors-to-the-contrary-smart-in-his-vcu-office-today/Shaka enjoys being romanced; remember Shaka and Marquette last year? Until I see him at a press conference wearing a tie that is orange and not yellow and black, I will not believe that he is leaving VCU for Texas (let alone any other location).

Ben Jacobson signed a new ten-year contract to stay at Northern Iowa, and reports indicate that Greg Marshall will be staying at Wichita State with a new deal. It is now being reported, however, that Billy Donovan will be considering offers to leave Florida for the NBA (according to espn.com).

The firing of Chris Jans by Bowling Green State earlier today was apparently due to his involvement in a dispute in a bar on March 22 or 23, at the conclusion of the Falcons' season, which was captured through video on a fellow patron's cell phone.
I guess Rick Pitino has to be thrilled that cell phone video captures weren't in vogue back in 2003.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch has a reporter at the basketball facility and a reporter at the airport watching Texas AD Steve Patterson's plane. The latest, just tweeted out, is that Shaka Smart has postponed the VCU team meeting. Might not be happening tonight, if at all.

Ok, at what point do both VCU and whatever school is trying to court him next get sick of the Hamlet act from Shaka? This happens every year. Either go or stay. Just do it quickly.

Team meeting at VCU is over; players left meeting without comment, escorted by PR staff. Again, if I am reading tea leaves (too late for me to come hop with another metaphor), Shaka is gone.

From Michael Phillips of the Richmond Times-Dispatch, outside of the Siegel Center in Richmond:
michael phillips @michaelprtd · 29s 29 seconds ago Last VCU players are leaving now. Visibly distraught.
I expect an announcement that Shaka is in Austin by sundown tomorrow.
EDIT: CBS Sports and ESPN are now reporting that Shaka Smart has accepted the head coaching job at Texas.
