Kentucky would attract a bigger name than Shaka. Who would be in the running then? I know there are bigger names than Shaka, but the best ones are firmly entrenched at their current program. Would someone at the level of Billy Donovan leave Florida for Kentucky?

Calipari can't win with a salary cap. Hence he never leaves Kentucky where there is no such impediment

Would someone at the level of Billy Donovan leave Florida for Kentucky? Not saying they would take the job, but Kentucky would attract the Sean Miller's, Mark Few's, Kevin Ollie's, Jay Wright's, etc.. of the coaching world.

I have doubts that Wright or Few would leave where they are (especially Few, who could have left tons of times), and I don't view Ollie as "better" option than Smart (even with the championship), but Miller is probably a really strong choice. He's had good success at Xavier and Arizona, but has no real connection to Arizona and hasn't been there forever. He'd probably option #1 for Kentucky, but I still see Smart as option B.

That could be the one job that entices Brad Stevens to leave the Boston Celtics and return to the college game.

Source, Frazier? Have only seen that if he doesn't make major changes, Barnes was out, but nothing further.
EDIT: The Texas website still lists Rick Barnes as head coach. This parting of the ways is still likely to happen, but apparently not yet.

It appears, now, that Rick Barnes is expected to resign as the head coach at Texas on Monday, after refusing the directive of athletic director Steve Patterson to fire his assistant coaches. If, in fact, Barnes steps down as Longhorns coach, wouldn't schools like Alabama, Tennessee, DePaul and St. John's be interested in taking with him about their coaching vacancies?

The Austin American-Statesman is reporting Barnes is out; still no official word from Texas or Barnes himself. That may come as early as tomorrow.
