This event will take place this weekend at the Armory in NYC. This is the best chance for the Hoyas to win both the men's and women's titles. Since this meet is heavily slanted towards middle distance running, and the Hoyas are Middle-Distance-U this year both on the men's and women's side, we stand a chance. Of course, we are field events weak as usually, although we have a couple of long jumpers on the men's side. Again, Villanova will be our chief rival in both the men's and women's races. The events start tomorrow afternoon and continue on Sunday. GO HOYAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The women have been put in a big hole teamwise with Villanova scoring 27 points in the pole vault. Sigh, I guess we are never going to win one of these again until we get some field eventers. And we really don't have the facilities for that.

Unfortunately most of the schools in the Big East put their resources into cross country. No Pitt, SFla, Cincy or Louisville to split up the field event points.

Apparently both the 800m and mile runs for the men and women did not have qualifying rounds and go directly to the finals tomorrow.
