You would think FS1 was HTS quality (old school reference) based upon how some of you gripe about it. Says the guy still complaining about Washington Post coverage. Because newspapers matter. By "still" do you mean I've been making that complaint of late? Because I don't recall me doing so for awhile. Also perhaps by living in Wisconsin, so far away from the DC area that type of stuff never bothered you anyway. But a DC area resident like myself paying for subscriptions to actual DC newspapers that were in theory supposed to report local news (including sports), I had the audacity to expect better coverage for a storied program like Gtown that has been ranked for most of III's time on the hilltop. There is still no better coverage of individual sports teams than those provided by beat writers assigned to cover the teams. And as of this moment... still....such beat writers tend to work mostly for those insignificant relics you know as newspapers. With that said in the DC area the quality of sports coverage for anything other than Redskins, Terps and now Nationals has gone down considerably over the past fifteen years which means by this point one has had more than enough time to judge such coverage. But FS1 has only been doing BE games for under two years and instead of appreciating how good it has been overall at this early stage and how it has already shown improvement from last season, quite a few of you want to gripe and whine about how it doesn't measure up to the World Wide Leader which has been doing college basketball since 1980. Congrats.

But now I've learned that Raftery is doing the Big Ten tournament semifinals and finals on CBS, meaning that he absolutely is NOT doing the BET final at the Garden. None of which matters if you are in MSG where you belong during the BET. Not to mention Raf has been with CBS longer and may have a clause in his contract that gives the CBS gig priority. Anyway next season when the Big Ten and Big East tourneys are played in different weeks it won't matter.

Whats wrong with all you people. Mike Francesa is the gold standard of Sports Talk. Mike and the Mad Dog revolutionized sports talk radio. Since going on his own and parting with dog the show is better than ever. The guy has been in drive time since the late 1980's, anyone that can hold the same job and keep the ratings as high as he has thru more than one generation of fans really should be commended. True his style is not for everyone, hes short with callers and borderline rude but hes NY and thats his style, maybe DC cant handle it.. I haven't listened to sport talk radio on purpose in a really, really long time. And there is literally no reason I can think of why anyone outside of the NYC metro area would ever listen to, let alone watch, a New York sports talk radio show. Agree. The New York radio broadcasters need to get a life.

Guess how much basketball is being broadcast on FS1 on Saturday? At least Fox has Villanova v. Xavier which I guess is a national telecast.

Usually just listen on radio on wfan. I'm an independent rep so I do lots of driving.

If you're stuck in a car for hours on end listening to Francesa you have my deepest sympathies. How do you manage to stay awake?

So have been a few Hoya games over the past 30-40 years, we don't see FS1 airing those from 2pm-4pm every day.

This weekend's game on CBS actually was a good test for the Big East, to see how the audience would be for a game on a major network already identified with college basketball. Here are all the weekend basketball ratings available: Saturday 0.91 rating CBS 12:00 pm Georgetown at St John’s 1.31 rating CBS 2:00 pm #15-North Carolina at Miami 1.96 rating CBS 4:00 pm #18-Arkansas at #1-Kentucky 0.46 rating FOX 2:00 pm #6-Villanova at Xavier 0.86 rating ESPN 12:00 pm Michigan at #14-Maryland 0.74 rating ESPN 2:00 pm #10-Northern Iowa at #11-Wichita State 1.01 rating ESPN 5:00 pm Texas at #8-Kansas 1.40 rating ESPN 7:00 pm Syracuse at #4-Duke 0.84 rating ESPN 9:00 pm #7-Arizona at #13-Utah Sunday 0.86 rating CBS 2:00 pm #21-SMU at Connecticut 1.24 rating CBS 4:00 pm Michigan State at #5-Wisconsin (Source: www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/skedball-weekend-sports-tv-ratings-2-28-3-1-2015.html)As you will see, the St. John's game had a very respectable number, and it was a far better number than we had for the FS1 game against St. John's. Also, I think it's worth noting that our game did better than ESPN's game at 12:00 pm, and we also out drew a game against top 15 teams, as well. I realize this is only one game, but I think it shows the low ratings on Fox Sports 1 are more the fact that the games are on a network that has few viewers, rather than a problem with the product itself. The fact that the FOX network game with Villanova/Xavier only drew 0.46 is also likely reflective of the fact that people just don't look to FOX for college basketball.

I love that the caller at 1:26 starts by saying "I've been dreaming..." Francesa's like "Yup, I've been doing the same thing. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ."

From what I gather from the FS1 site we should be able to stream the game on the FS1 web site even on an att uverse computer network even though the game will be blocked/replaced with darts on the tv channel. Ultimately, I hope this is true or I will need to run out to BWW or a sports bar tomorrow night!

I am in the middle of a lovely exchange with AT&T customer service. here's what they are saying:
Merri R: We believe we should have to pay for this content and has rejected the programming with the added surcharge. At this time, we are not likely to reach an agreement with Fox Sports 1 and this specific programming will no longer be available to AT&T U-verse TV customers starting Feb. 28, 2015.
Merri R: I am very sorry for the inconvenience Andrew.
Merri R: The Fox Sports network is requesting more money to cover the cost of their programming and we do not belive we should have to pay for it, we are in negotiations currently. Merri R: I am very sorry I am not able to issue you credits here at chat. I recommend calling our Billing Specialists at 1.800.288.2020 for additional assistance.

Just an FYI for Connecticut people using Frontier U-Verse (Frontier bought out AT&T's CT business a couple months ago) - According the customer service chat I just had, the games on FS1 will not be disrupted.

And in other awesome news, I also seemed to be blocked from the Fox Sports Go app.
