Congrats to Tyler and his family. I've heard Tyler is a great kid and he'll have a chance to become a well rounded man and basketball player as a Hoya. Dream come true for sure.

Congrats to JT3 and staff on reeling in another top level recruit - and a local, and a guard! Well done!

Just checked out the mixtape link provided earlier in this thread. Having only seen this....kind of reminds me a great deal of David Wingate...Would be very happy if he turns out to be as good!

Casual speculating he might be a 2016 re-class. This might explain early commit and fill one of the needed guard positions. That would be nice.

Got to give a lot of credit to JT3 for getting an offer out to Tyler as early as he did. Lots of high majors were starting to lurk ....but JT3 liked what he saw and acted on it. Broadus was the lead here. Think this kid is going to bring it on both sides of the ball.

Glad we are taking this approach of acting early. I feel Ohio State does this to great effect

Reclassification or not, it seems like a good fit for Tyler. Congratulations to him and his family! Must have been such a great day for all of them and now he can focus on finishing up HS and HS ball and preparing himself for the next level. Welcome to the newest Hoya!

zagsblog.com/georgetown/2017-guard-tyler-foster-to-georgetown/n its 2017 recruiting class on Wednesday when it landed a pledge from Tyler Foster, a 6-foot-5, 175-pound shooting guard from Baltimore (MD) Gilman. VCU, Dayton and Southern Miss were also involved, but Georgetown was the heavy favorite. “I picked Georgetown because I feel like it was a perfect fit on and off the court,” he told SNY.tv by text. “I’m going to try to do a little of everything when I get there just like I do now.”

"It's the perfect place for me. Going to Gilman, I feel it will be a smooth transition on and off the court," said Foster. "I love the coaching staff. They showed me mad love." Foster's dad, Robert said the Hoyas started showing interest after his son helped Gilman upset St. Frances Academy last January. Tyler Foster visited the District school two weekends ago and VCU last weekend. "We were there five to six hours, but it was everything but basketball," said Robert Foster, who played on Dunbar's 1991-92 mythical national championship squad. "We know there'll be so many opportunities outside of basketball." Tyler Foster, the first commit in the Class of 2017 for the Hoyas, made the announcement in front of family and friends at his grandparents' house in Windsor Mill. A little over an hour later, he was off to St. Paul's School for a summer league contest with the Greyhound www.varsitysportsnetwork.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=15268:foster-commits-to-georgetown-&catid=31:feature&Itemid=1

Maybe we can now put to rest the stigma that all GU commits automatically go down in the rankings after committing. Peak, White, and Copeland all made huge improvements in the rankings as well after committing....

If that isn't GU recruiting in a nutshell...
