Not surprised at all. I had a feeling this is how it was going to end, but just wasn't sure when and how they were going to get there.

Eh, I'm sure JT3 will keep him close by, if he decides to stick with GU down the road.

Pleasantly surprised no one is running around yelling the sky is falling. I think it's because we seem to be in pretty good standing with quite a few shooting guards in the class of 2017 that are probably better for us.

Kid had tools to be a better player. But I had my doubts about him coming in and making an impact.

Clearly this was coming as we have undoubtedly been doing everything possible to recruit over this kid. Hopefully we are now successful in doing so, otherwise this does become a serious indictment as as of this moment the 2017 class is empty. Wish the best to Ty wherever he lands.

My best wishes to Tyler in the future..

My best wishes to Tyler in the future.. David Beatty had us in his final 8, Naji Marshall took an unofficial here recently, Parker Stewart speaks highly of us. Also seems like we have potential with some 2018 recruits like Kiyon Boyd and Prentiss Hubb. I'm sure the staff would've fought hard to keep Tyler if they didn't think we had a decent shot with any of those recruits. Could be wrong though.

Pleasantly surprised no one is running around yelling the sky is falling. That's just cause certain posters haven't discovered this thread yet. Don't worry it will come.

There have been a bunch of posts that effectively say "it was obvious this was going to happen" but no one really gives a reason WHY they thought it was going to happen. SDHoya says that we were recruiting over him but is that the reason he decommitted or did we recruit that way because it was clear he was decommitting?
What was in the wind that recruit gurus sensed that led them to their stated conclusions?

Not sure I would put any of them on the good position list but I see your point.. I'd like to add Jelani Williams added to the list..

What was in the wind that recruit gurus sensed that led them to their stated conclusions? The fact that while he had potential he has not played well since signing and just doesn't seem to be very good. He could eventually be good, but he's not currently good enough to play at Georgetown. There are lots of people who were hoping he'd decommit (or start playing well enough to earn his spot), so they got their wish. No facts, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't his choice to decommit. I think we probably told him he should start looking elsewhere. Maybe not maybe it's just convenient for us, but this is not a loss.

Wishing Foster and GU well as they go their separate ways. Whatever the reasons, I hope both succeed. On the plus side, he is a '17 recruit, so both Foster and GU have plenty of time to adjust and make other arrangements.
From the GU POV, I hope our recruiting efforts, aided by our two new assistants, are able to deliver a strong 2017 recruiting class. We certainly need one.

I just hope that it all handled with integrity. We don't need the program to be tarnished by this. I mean, after all, it is best that we have these kinds of things happen earlier rather than later. I wish Tyler well.

As we talk about trying to find some backcourt/wing help made me think of Tyler and wonder what happened to him after leaving. Well as far as I can tell, absolutely nothing. Looks like from best I can tell from 247 may have an opportunity w/James Madison or Drexel. Looked at his ranking history on 247 as well because i didn't recall and he has gone from 190's to around 300, which is too bad for his prospects.
However, I am surprised even at 300 he has not found a home somwhere, especially at this point. Was he a good athlete in another sport? I thought I remember reading that and myaybe he focused his future elesewhere?
