Let's keep the momentum going. Not gonna be easy on the road, but playing under control and limiting turnovers can get this done. Hoya Saxa.

I have no respect for St John's especially under Lavin. Very streaky and very disorganized. Inevitably, when things get tight they revert to playground. I want us to beat them just so they don't wind up representing the BE in the NCAA tourney.

I have no respect for St John's especially under Lavin. Very streaky and very disorganized. Inevitably, when things get tight they revert to playground. I want us to beat them just so they don't wind up representing the BE in the NCAA tourney. Their offense pretty much starts and ends with playground. If they're engaged defensively, they can be tough. The Hoyas need to focus on transition defense as the Johnnies are a different team when they have to play in the half court. I'm still waiting to hear if my friend secured 4 tickets.... 3 Johnnies fans and me. Either way, I expect to be at the game with those folks and I want them to be the ones with the long ride home. I'll keep it civil but the threat of ripping them would be fantastic to have in my pocket. Harrison is due for a good game though, TBH, I have no clue how he's a 2000 point scorer. Refs will play a big role in this game as will the Hoyas defensive effort. Josh's foul troubles won't be a huge deal if Mikael can score a bucket or 2 early. I wondered last game and I'm wondering again who will draw the most time defending Pointer. Even though he's mostly got recruiters instead of coaches, Pointer has put in a bunch of work in to improve his game. I have a lot of respect for how far he's come and I want to see him have success. Just not against the Hoyas. I think I'd like to see an Isaac/LJ tandem on him though I wouldn't be surprised to have a lot of JT55 on him. Many people question where LJ has gone offensively. I wonder if those same people have noticed his improvement on D as the year has passed. I'd love to see LJ ruin Pointer's day.

Defend our second home court, MSG! Didn't realize this until now, but our game will be St. John's senior day as they play their last 2 games on the road. So they'll probably be a little more pumped up than they would be otherwise. Have to remember we destroyed them at home last year but got destroyed in the Garden. So our ease of victory at home isn't necessarily an indication of how the rematch will go. That being said, St. John's defense has fallen off considerably from last year. Last year they were #1 in defense in BE play, this year they're 7th. They only lost players from the PF position, so it seems odd they fell off so much. Perhaps it's having to play small with Pointer at PF and 3 guards instead of 2 guards, pointer at SF and 2 bigs. They're turning people over a whole lot less and they're allowing a much higher FG%.

Three wins down, three to go to close out the regular season.

I have to say again, our BE schedule has been extremely favorable. There should be no excuses for being worn down. The only time we played Sat-Mon this year is when both games were at home. And, we are now in a stretch where we'll play 5 games in basically 3 1/2 weeks. Add that to the fact that we only played 11 OOC games. With all our freshman, I think this is a good advantage to have.

Did not realize this was SJU's senior day. That is going to make this tricky. I have to admit if the Hoyas can handle SJU in MSG given the circumstances (SJU Senior Day and desperate bubble position), I am probably going to let my expectations get too high.
Keep turnovers low and make them work for their points, that seems to be the formula for beating the Johnnies. A quick start by us could knock them mentally right out of the game.

Pretty sure St John's did their Senior Day ceremony over the weekend at the Seton Hall game, which was at Carnesecca. Think the broadcast mentioned it.

Saw part of the SH-SJU game and yes they were treating it as a senior day game.

Ok well it is their last home game and likely a game they'll need in order to make the tournament, especially if they lose tonight.

The guy who should always be the voice of MSG, Marv Albert, calling the game on CBS. Yes!

Not to get off topic, but why do we seem to always play 2 or so less OOC games than everyone else in our conference? Not that scheduling a couple of 200+ rpi squads would help but 20-8, 10-5 just sounds better....I feel like this is consistently the case with us.

Maybe not 200+ RPI teams, but definitely not major conference teams, so somewhat paradoxically I bet had we played an extra game or two, our RPI would be slightly worse right now.

Going to be a war. Going to need to bring out A game to come away with a win methinks.
