In terms of potential 2 seeds, I don't know that Kansas scares me more than some of the alternatives. I'd probably rather play Nova. I just don't think they are an awful matchup other than "they are good." Agreed. We're 1-3 versus #2 seeds and the losses OOC are by 3 and 5. I don't think there's a 2 seed that's particularly bad for this team to play. If the Zags drop to the #2 line, I'd want that draw. Not in love with teams that haven't played a tournament team in 3 months and have one top 25 win at home in November.

I guess the Hoyas are just going to have to put them back there then. Yeah, I think that was a factor of winning 3 straight games, which to be fair, doesn't happen a lot with bubble teams. So, they probably leaped a lot of teams. We quickly ended those good feelings by trouncing them last night! That said, Im happy to see any bracket that would have 5-6 BE teams comfortably in the tourney. SJU should beat Seton Hall this Saturday, and they will have chances against Xavier and us at home.

Hoyazeke never said KU was a good matchup for Gtown. I just don't think they're a bad matchup either. I don't care about there rankings. I've watched them all year. They are a good team that could beat us but I wouldn't be surprised if we beat them. The teams that I think are bad matchups are the teams that can either shut down Josh with minimal help or the teams that can shoot us out the gym. Wisconsin, Duke, Nova Kentucky and Gonzaga and even some lower seeds like Xavier and Texas.

But we are no where near the level of Kentucky and Duke and I wouldn't want to play Nova again.

Obviously, KenPom's ratings are different from tournament seeding, but on there we are ranked 17 now. I think if we can win convincingly over DePaul on Saturday, and we are ranked (no sure thing) that'll definitely cause us to rise up the seeding charts. Admittedly, beating Seton Hall, St. John's, and DePaul isn't slaying giants, but we'd be 10-5, with a very high RPI and SoS, which I think easily warrants greater than a 7 seed.

We are closer to a 6 seed than a 7 in most brackets, but to be fair, I dont see why deserve to be much higher than that. We lost 2 huge chances when we lost to Providence and Xavier at home. If we had won those games, we'd be close to a 3-4 seed, honestly. Butler is a 4 seed and they didnt beat Nova. We need to win games we arent favored to win to move back up - e.g., at Butler, in the quarters and semis of the BET.

we'd be an absolute nightmare matchup for Utah. I could honestly see us beating them by 10-12 points

I can't help but chuckle at his Nova/FGCU matchup...

I looked at that the other day and think it would be the best bracket we could get as a 6 seed. Which is probably why we'd never get it. If you are going to play a big 10 school, your best chance is to play them on the entire other side of the country away from fans. Also, E. Washington would probably bring their entire school to Portland, and I could definitely see them beating Utah. I know it would suck for our fan base, but I feel like we'd be better off shipped farther away.

6 Big East teams would be a nice outcome, especially if we could get 2 or 3 into the Sweet Sixteen.

www.bracketmatrix.com/This gives a composite seed based off a large number of mock brackets and also grades each bracket after the year. Don't know if its been posted before, but it's a pretty cool site.

ESPN Bracketology, Mon.-Feb 23rdGeorgetown seed #7 vs. #10 Temple (tends to be a 1 and done team). If seeding held true, the Hoyas would play #2 Wisconsin in a rematch of the Nov. 27the game Or if there was an upset the Hoyas would play #15 FGCU in a rematch of the 2013 NCAA game

Entertaining, but things will change 6 or 7 times by Selection Sunday.
