Thanks to you who have contacted me off the blog to express support for the points I have tried to articulate in this and other threads. Your messages are much appreciated. Elvado, I understand your cite “judge not lest ye be not judged”, but submit it does not prevent condemning abortion as evil. Jesus never tolerated sin. He preached compassion, repentance, forgiveness, reconciliation and redemption but not tolerance of evil: “…And everyone who commits an offense against one of these little ones who believe in me, it were profitable for him that a donkey's millstone would be hung around his neck and he be sunk in the depths of the sea.”
Finally, the questions I have posed in this and other threads remain unanswered. www.ehd.org/prenatal-images-index.phpHuman life? If no, what is it? If yes, what is the justification for killing her? Richard M. Coleman C ’57; GL ‘61 Blog? What blog? People who contacted him: 1. Ed 2. Ed (again) 3. That's it.. That's the list. Maybe he's referring to the FLOOD of PMs he likely got, kc. Yeah, right.

Missed my July check-in but see today there still has been no reply to the questions. Here they are again. ... the questions I have posed in this and other threads remain unanswered. www.ehd.org/prenatal-images-index.phpHuman life? If no, what is it? I fail to see your point. Dr. Carson has stated that he does not believe that fetal tissue research should be banned.

I fail to see your point. Dr. Carson has stated that he does not believe that fetal tissue research should be banned. "This has everything to do with how it’s acquired. If you’re killing babies and taking the tissue, that’s a very different thing than taking a dead specimen and keeping a record of it." 1) Carson says a 17 week old fetus is a living baby. 2) Carson says that how the fetus (baby, in his view) is acquired is the issue. If it happened to die, research is fine. If it was aborted, not fine. 3) Carson performed his research on fetuses that were aborted (or as he would put it, babies that were killed). 4) Carson said that there's nothing that "can't be done without fetal tissue." Carson performed research with fetal tissue. Bonus: ""I may not be completely objective about Planned Parenthood, because I know how they started with Margaret Sanger who believed in eugenics," said Carson, who is running for President of a country founded by slaveowners.

If you’re killing babies and taking the tissue, that’s a very different thing than taking a dead specimen and keeping a record of it." Completely reasonable. How could you disagree? A significant percentage of Americans believe this, with most believing personhood begins at conception. Again, a very important distinction. You think it's a false dichotomy? The most problematic area of his reasoning. Though it's not clear if the babies were killed by Planned Parenthood, or if their lives ended due to spontaneous abortions. See above. He's not against fetal tissue per se. How dare his opinion be colored by something as innocuous as eugenics.

Carson says research on aborted fetuses is not necessary. Carson performed research on aborted fetuses.
Carson said that research on fetal tissue is unacceptable if it is performed on aborted fetuses. Carson performed research on the fetal tissue of aborted fetuses.
Carson says that he's against Planned Parenthood because it was founded by someone who believed in eugenics. Carson is running for President of a country that was founded by human beings who literally owned other human beings and created a country that ensured the legal right to own other human beings (and also committed genocide).
You are really straining to see the lack of internal consistency in these positions...

So you're saying that Carson, to be "internally consistent," should be against the U.S.A.?

Wow what a surprise, you found an angle where you get to use a loaded question to ignore the fact that Carson is a hypocrite, which was my point. Keep doing you, KC, it never gets old...

Because it's a stupid, loaded question. People don't have to play along with the obnoxious rhetorical pivots you always use.
What do you get out of derailing so many discussions with this type of nonsense? I said Carson's a hypocrite. You rejected it. I provided clear, simple examples. Instead of addressing the very direct, simple claim I made, you find some different approach to go that allows you to re-frame the discussion in a way that allows you to feel superior. It's just a really tiresome act.
