It continues to amaze me that Georgetown students or grads fail to grasp what Jackson said so many years ago; and further, that they avoid even discussing it but change the subject by making fun of other posters. This is a very serious subject, not comedy. You really think abortion hasn't been discussed on this board? Really? Deleted. It doesn't appear you are following board rules, otherwise the posts above (and other threads) would be gone. Why the double standard?

This is a very serious subject, not comedy. You really think abortion hasn't been discussed on this board? Really? Deleted. No it hasn't. It's been talked around by those who espouse a woman's right to choose. Biologically it is proven that human life begins at conception. Those who disagree say they don't know when personhood begins, a cop-out. If you don't know when personhood begins then you don't know whether or not it begins at conception. If you don't know this, isn't it safe to accept it may begin at conception and support the right to life position until you can prove that position is wrong?

It seems to me that the entirety of this debate is among those who were lucky enough not to be somebody's "choice"...

The pro-life arguments on this board lack any sense of nuance and use the most juvenile rhetoric, as the most recent post shows. I love being informed that the issue is black and white and once I see it that way, I will obviously agree with the position of the pro-lifers.

I do not believe the issue to be black and white. I am anti-abortion but absolutely pro-choice. The idea of government regulating morality sickens me.
That said, consideration should always be given to consequences of the choices one makes, be they moral, ethical or medical.
Thank you though for your judgmental post.

Thank you for the more than 300 views since my last post. I was not aware of the rule against posting the full piece. I hope those viewing did open up the site: www.jewishworldreview.com/cols/hentoff061206.asp I have long admired Mr. Henthoff, a Jewish atheist who for many years wrote for the liberal Village Voice – more about him can be found here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nat_Hentoff Richard M. Judging from your dance video, Dog, I am certainly concerned about yours.

Why are you linking to photos of an aborted fetus? You're a weird bird, Richard.
Why do you keep constantly demanding everyone just flat out agree that a fetus is a human being and that they're supporting murder, and then contribute nothing to any sort of back-and-forth debate?
Do you not understand that you are linking your professional, actual name to these increasingly bizarre posts? That search engines index? Do you still not understand conceptually why people like to be anonymous on message boards?

I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that my "views" of this thread are done for the sole purpose of making this thread to disappear from the list of topics appearing on my mobile device.

Elvado: Isn't it an oxymoron to be anti-abrotion and pro-choice? Although being pro-choice does not mean that you favor abortion, at the same time you are giving moral consent to it

I do not believe it is. I abhor abortion on a personal moral level. However, I subscribe to the theory of judge not lest ye be judged.
I hope that everyone confronted with this most difficult decision chooses life. However, I know full well it is not my choice to make.

Moderators: I haven't clicked on the link, but I'm assuming it's similar to previous posts he's made on the subject, except in video-form. I know this isn't the video board, but I still think this board rule should apply: "3. It also goes without saying that no adult material will be tolerated, but I'll say it anyway. Anyone abusing the rules can and will lose general board posting privileges." While this probably isn't the "adult material" that was in mind when the rule was put into place, I'm pretty sure this NSFW video would meet the spirit of why that rule was put in place.

Thanks to you who have contacted me off the blog to express support for the points I have tried to articulate in this and other threads. Your messages are much appreciated. Elvado, I understand your cite “judge not lest ye be not judged”, but submit it does not prevent condemning abortion as evil. Jesus never tolerated sin. He preached compassion, repentance, forgiveness, reconciliation and redemption but not tolerance of evil: “…And everyone who commits an offense against one of these little ones who believe in me, it were profitable for him that a donkey's millstone would be hung around his neck and he be sunk in the depths of the sea.”
Finally, the questions I have posed in this and other threads remain unanswered. www.ehd.org/prenatal-images-index.phpHuman life? If no, what is it? If yes, what is the justification for killing her? Richard M. Coleman C ’57; GL ‘61
