We should get Osun his own thread. That said, how do people feel about him? Clearly we need some more help at the C as an injury this year would decimate us and Jessie leaving next year will also hurt. Could Osun be a good depth guy that will take a few years to develop and would be willing to compete against star bigs from 2019 and 2020?

One thing about this kid is he really hasn't been playing that long, and he was 6'1 as a Frosh. Both things make it hard to tell where he will be in a couple of years.

Newly decommitted big man available Native Nigerian Ibby Ali took an unofficial visit to Baylor on Jan. 15, silently committed soon thereafter and signed with the Bears last month. However, now, sources tell HawgBeat that Ali has been released from his NLI with Baylor and the in-state prospect took a visit to Arkansas today.
"I was welcomed by the entire coaching staff," Ali said. "It wasn't my first time on the Hill but this time it felt really different."
When the now 2018 – and one-time 2017 – 6-10 center from Maumelle, AR was originally being recruited, most saw him as a mid-major Division I prospect. But because he didn’t qualify until December 2017, that gave him time to work on his game, develop that presence in the block and for P5 schools to move in.
Besides Baylor, Ali was considering Georgetown, Utah and Nebraska.
This is a dream come true for most Razorback fans who know the team could use immediate help in the post.
Ali came over to the United States in 2014 and had not played a second of basketball. His sport was soccer. So compared to many prospects he's still learning to play the game.
After transferring from Little Rock Catholic to Maumelle for his senior year (2016-17), Ali is a stronger rebounder and shot blocker but not a scoring presence. He finished averaging four points on 50 percent from the field, nearly six rebounds and 36 blocks in 31 games.
“This year, I’ve just been working on all my skills,’’ Ali told Sic'em Report. “I love to dunk. But I want to be an all-around good player.’’

Looks like the young man Osun Osunniyi, can roll. He looks very athletic and energetic. If we got him today things will really get exciting from the word go.

Seems to have good athleticism, and has done a prep year against good competition so you’re getting him with an extra year of seasoning under his belt. Good instinct for blocking shots, and solid rebounder. Raw offensively, but starting to show the beginning of some back to basket moves. I think he’d be a good get at this point; spot minutes next year and then more prominent role once he gets more polished offensively.

In the National Prep championship game victory vs Northfield Mt Hermon, Osun outplayed #52 National 4 Star Notre Dame commit Nate Laszewski. Sign him up Patrick.

If the player has already done a prep year then he is absolutely coming out in 2018 so I would think he needs to make a decision soon as to where he wants to attend. Do people think he can contribute this upcoming year or is he maybe looking at a red shirt year to develop and be ready for 2019? The red shirt thing seems to work great for Nova!!! Would think we will hear something in the next week or so.

No Hoya interest that I know of yet, but kid is relatively local, and more than solid...

Patrick Ewing has a four-man class that could be the reason behind the Hoyas’ ascent back into the top half of the Big East. He found a good one in Josh LeBlanc, a do-it-all type that can really rebound the ball. Mac McClung comes to Georgetown with plenty of acclaim and playing alongside four-star playmaker James Akinjo should only help his cause. Face-up forward Grayson Carter adds versatility to the frontcourt thanks to the jumper that he wields out to the perimeter. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/twitter-tuesday-josh-green-florida-under-the-radar-classes

I look at it the other way and am impressed with Akinjo's frame.
