More Monday notes The physical development of class of 2017 four-star center Nicholas Richards since the summer has been quite impressive. Formerly lean, Richards has started to put on muscle and is now capable of playing a power game around the rim. He attacks rebounds at the highest point with both hands, runs the floor very well and has some touch around the rim. He's a total no brainer on the high major level and gives Elizabeth (N.J.) St. Patrick a very nice piece on the interior for the next few years. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1720381The South Carolina Raptors always have a young prospect coming up the ranks to watch. This year’s guy? How about Nick Claxton of Greenville (SC) Legacy. His coaches said he was 5-foot-11 18 months ago. Today? Well, he’s a long 6-foot-7. Keep his name on your 2017 radar in the South. Time is on his side as he develops his game. His dad was a former SEC player. hoopseen.com/index.php/news/headlines/item/3184-nikemdc-sundayCLASS OF 2017 Nicholas Claxton, PF, Legacy Charter -- Claxton, a sophomore power forward, showed some ability in a match up with Francis Parker. A 6-foot-7 lean forward, Claxton has good mobility, will contest shots around the basket and can make a mid-range jump shot. Claxton has impressive genes, as his dad played at Georgia and later in the NBA. He lacks the weight to be overly physically right now, but that didn’t stop him from playing hard and trying to mix it up around the basket. www.scout.com/college/basketball/recruiting/story/1496946-under-armour-holiday-classic-day-oneLegacy Charter forward Nicholas Claxton will be a player to keep an eye on in the 2017 class. He plays with tremendous energy and effort on both ends of the court. He has a great deal of upside with his best basketball days ahead of him due to his impressive athleticism. Claxton attracted the attention of South Carolina, Missouri, Southern California, Clemson and Georgia after his performance in the Elite 32. ontheradarhoops.com/otrhoopsreport-players-shine-this-summer-aug-17-2015/

As always with all highlights clips take them with a grain of salt but the kid does look very skilled.. Might be worth a look or two, it could open up a new recruiting avenue..

Had a nice game against Trey his Freshman year. At that time he was already 6'9 all arms and legs but you could tell he was a def HM big. Most of the clips are from his freshman year fwiw

More on Nick Claxton Claxton’s father Charles played at the University of Georgia and was a 1994 2nd round NBA draft pick for the Phoenix Suns. That 1994 was the same draft that had Glenn Robinson, Jason Kidd, Grant Hill, Donyell Marshall, and Juwan Howard. His father, from the Virgin Islands, is 7’1”. Similarly slender to Nick, he graduated high school at 200 pounds, sprouting up to 240 after his freshman year in college. After first watching Claxton at our Phenom Summer Havoc last year we wrote, “Claxton is a long lefty, and at 6’7” is still growing. While he still needs strength and consistency, he has great touch and the ability to push the break with great pace” Claxton is just that, a very skilled forward who is now in fact pushing 6’10”. His wing span is 7’3”, and the lefties touch is confidently well beyond the arc. However, his best attribute may be his vision and ability to see the play ahead of him. Since the live period started Claxton has picked up offers from Southern Cal, Murray State, and Temple. He has also had the likes of Georgetown, South Carolina, Tennessee, Baylor, NC State, Clemson, and more come through to see him.We heard a high major coach watching compare him to Kevin Durant, we at Phenom Hoops compared him to a thinner version of Greg Monroe, Legacy Charter assistant coach James Simpkins compares him to a mix between Demarr Johnson and Lamar Odom.Make sure you make it out to the Phenom National Showcase on November 13 and 14 at Forsyth Country Day School in Lewisville, NC. www.phenomhoopreport.com/news_article/show/554829?referrer_id=1555437

YaBoy what is your scouting report on JWill? Is the kid a PG on the HM level? With his size he seems like an intriguing prospect if he is a PG.........

YaBoy what is your scouting report on JWill? Is the kid a PG on the HM level? With his size he seems like an intriguing prospect if he is a PG......... He's trying to become one, He does a lot of things well and looks skilled but I personally haven't seen enough to say either way. ... Him and Naji Marshall probably did the most out of the local kids in 2017 to boost their stock this summer. Definitely a kid the staff should start monitoring and obviously he's a good student... Apparently they watched him earlier this week and must have liked what they saw if they have him coming up this weekend. He had a really good HS season although the level is a notch down, and HM's have shown interes. The writer of the above articles eval's are solid, but hard to gauge level without seeing him compete in various settings. Side Note: He played with Day Day Bracey at the DMV Elite80 event. Played really well according to multiple reports leading their team to the finals. Had one of the biggest HL's of the event also but unfortunately it was him getting dunked on by Chyree Walker.. lol He's #22 in White in the first game clips and 22 in black in the last game
