Why didn't puppydog100 win as he predicted an overtime win of 85-82? You're right, Nevada and nathan, thanks for that. I missed that score in the middle of the sentence. Congrats to puppydog (and sorry)!!

Me'Shell Ndegéocello - 81 Bootsy Collins - 57 A lot of posters do not know who Me'Shell Ndegéocello is or even the legendary Bootsy Collins is either. Maybe you could enlighten them a little bit more.

Me'Shell Ndegéocello - 81 Bootsy Collins - 57 A lot of posters do not know who Me'Shell Ndegéocello is or even the legendary Bootsy Collins is either. Maybe you could enlighten them a little bit more. The short answer is that they are both bass players, one from Cincinnati, one from DC. Short story about Bootsy. In 1970, some members of James Brown's band threatened to quit over a dispute involving back wages. James fired them, and immediately called up a local Cincinnati band called the Pacemakers, fronted by 18 yr old Bootsy (and his older brother, Phelps "Catfish" Collins). They knew all of James' charts. James named the new band, the JB's, who, with Bootsy on bass, went on to record such James hits as Super Bad, Soul Power, and Sex Machine.

Maybe you could enlighten them a little bit more. If Bootsy represents Cincy, the DC rep should be Chuck Brown - much closer stylistically and age wise etc. Though of course god rest his go go soul. As for anyone who can't figure out the references, this is GU - do your own homework.

Saw him live many times in the clubs in DC when I lived there.

And they made all those hits in less than a year of working for JB. Another fun note, that was shortly before James Brown hired a young Al Sharpton as his tour manager. #laborrelations. To riff on the theme: Go-Go: 86 Funk: 68
